That’s exactly what you’re trying to do by starting this thread.

Why does this matter? The dude is the best player in the world right now.

He def doesn’t give them what they crave. He shot down the significance of winning over and ever. Stating it’s not end all be all but he liked winning. Was funny to watch.

Not an accurate way unless the meaning of iffy changed to mean crappy.

It made for an uncomfortable 18th today I think. If the golfer pre admitting his enjoyment of it is limited, how excited should fans get?
He can say whatever he wants, but saying it right before he went out and dominated a major might not have been great timing.

Looked to me like he was trying to figure out how to act after he his last put.

Nantz made it worse shoehorning it in on the 18th green too I though

Tbh it's refreshing to have a pro athlete actually come out and say this because it's the truth. Its true for the athlete but especially for fans. Although I'd be over the moon if A&M ever won another NC in football it wouldn't change the fact I have to go to work the next morning and continue to take care of my family. Changes literally nothing about my life.

Absolutely. Earlier in the day I was watching the Sky Sports broadcast and Nantes made me wish I hadn’t switched over.

“The truth” implies some objective reality. There is no objective truth about whether being at the pinnacle of your sport is a big deal or not.

It’s just his feelings. I could counter that it would be pretty naive to expect any euphoric feeling to be lasting and that it actually is very meaningful, feelings aside, to dedicate your life to a passion and succeed at it, whatever it is. Especially when it gives him a platform to do something more meaningful if he chooses (charity, a foundation, whatever he thinks is important).

You want drama? Then stick to love Island.

He’s the most exciting golfer to watch on Tour since Brooks went on his major run and is on a ball striking streak we haven’t seen since Tiger in 2000.

Factually, this is correct. They won the 1939 AP title.

Golf board

Although I don’t know why we even need one of those.

Nantz was not on the call today. This was an NBC broadcast, not CBS.

About as universally human a statement as it gets. Don’t know why people would feel this is uncomfortable

Re OP, Tiger was not cuddly or interesting back in the day beyond the dominance. He was pretty dry. Learning about his issues has made him way more fun in retrospect

Sorry, Dan Hicks, not sure why I said that.

I guess subconscious since Nantz has been awful this year

I heard someone say he is the Tim Duncan of golf. Not flashy but dominant, I think it’s fitting.
