I played Lake Shawnee in Topeka today and saw something I have never seen before on a golf course. I was on the 3rd tee box waiting for the group ahead of me to clear. The tee box is about 25 or 30 yards away from the lake. First I hear a golf cart seemingly coming full throttle down the cartpath behind the tee box. Then I hear some guy dropping f-bomb after f-bomb, after f-bomb. I turn around just in time to see this golf cart zipping behind me on a path straight towards the lake. About twenty feet behind the cart (which has no one in it) I see a guy running after it who was the source of the f-bombs. I know there is absolutely no way he got to that cart before it either went into the lake or the marshy muck just off the shore of the lake. I don't know what happened because they went down a slope out of my view and the fairway was clear when I turned around. The 3rd green goes right back up by the club house so I stopped there to let the staff know their might be a situation down on the 3rd tee.

I saw a guy throw his entire golf bag into a pond in a fit of rage. He bought a brand new set of clubs 30 days later.

I've played the course a zillion times. I knew there was no way from the rate the cart was going and how close it was to the lake and how far away from the cart he was that he was going to catch up to it. I don't have a power wench attached to my golf bag and I am not wading into anything to fetch anyone else's clubs. I saw the cart when it went by. No one was in it. There was no way anyone was going to be hurt no matter what I did. There was another person in another cart playing with him. If there was any kind of absolute emergency he would have been screaming his head off too.

A hole on my home course closely borders a pretty busy road. The OB hedge that borders the road is about 6 ft from the fairway all the way down that hole. I was playing with my dad and he smashed his drive with a pull hook that went directly towards the road. It hits the telephone pole ACROSS the street so hard that it bounced back across and 10 ft inside the fairway. I’ll never forget that

my dad knocked out the green light teeing off on #15 @ Webb park about 15 years ago. Teed off with a PW, over the retaining net, one hop on South Foster and BAM...No green light for at least two weeks that I remember

I'm pretty sure we left right after that.

Dead opossum being put in water cooler. We’re the last groups on the course and guys brother was playing in the group behind us. We were some pretty cruel friends to each other when it came to pranks.

Saw a guy T bone an SUV with 3 college girls in it, he got out and started screaming and cursing at them. I was with 3 other guys and we went over there to call the cops and make sure everyone was okay (they were). Ended up staying for 20 minutes because these poor girls were crying and this dude was so pissed off, finally one of the girl’s dads came and the cops showed up and the dude calmed down a little bit.

Was one of the vehicles involved in the accident a golf cart? If the guy T-boned the girls' vehicle, why was he so pissed?

No they were both cars.

I don’t know why he was so pissed, they did stop too late at a stop sign so their front end was in the intersection, may have been their fault although he had time to stop.

He just seemed pissed that his car was wrecked. We stayed and waited for their dad because we thought the guy might start cursing them out or something, he was freaking pissed at these 18-19 yr old girls

Against my better judgment, I agreed to participate in a charity scramble being put on by a bunch of Chalmettians.

While I saw a lot of stupid sh!t that was done that day, the worst was probably watching some of the stereotypical looking Chalmettians engaging in a "jousting" competition. But, not just any jousting competition.

They drove their carts into a large sandtrap and used the carts like horses and jousted from their carts while pretty much destroying the sandtrap. Of course, there were lots of "donuts" in the sandtraps at the same time.

It was at this time that I realized that lots of alcohol, Chalmettians, and golf just do not mix well.

I watched my cousin run the cart his dad let him drive right off a bridge and into a lake at Eastover. I was driving the cart me and my dad were in. My cousin and I were both 8 or 9 I think.

His dad was barking orders leading up to the bridge and I guess my cousin panicked. I remember wanting to laugh so hard but also being terrified because my uncle was a hot head and I didn't know what was about to happen. My uncle was dying laughing when we rolled up on them.

Did it happen in a parking lot at a golf course? I'm confused how this story fits the thread.

Was working at Athens Country Club during my years at UGA. A lot of our carts didn't have the reverse buzzers. One lady didn't realize her cart was in reverse and stepped on the accelerator and ran into one of the ropes that keep people out of the fairway. The ropes were connect to those little metal post with loop holes. The metal post went right through one cheek amd out the other. When paramedics showed up, they took her to hospital with it still in her mouth.
