Hey I’m going to get a round in tomorrow afternoon. Let me know if you want to do something.

I’m playing the Copperhead course for the first time on Saturday and would like to prepare a bit.

Many years ago a bunch of us from work went to old Braithwaite Golf Course. The group I was in had one guy who loved to joke and heckle people. This day he brought one of those exploding golf balls with him, he even doctored it up to look just like a Titleist. He told us to switch the balls when he distracts the big guy in our group, former D1 defensive lineman. We get to the tee box on a long par 4 and little jokester runs up and quickly tees off first, about 220 in the middle. When bigun gets ready to tee off he starts jumping around yelling that no way he can hit it past him on the hole. Guy had turned around laughing at him and we switch the ball. He then sets up takes the biggest swing immaginable and poof, ball explodes into chalk. He dropped the driver and chased the little guy about 500 yards. We still laugh about that.

Playing Copperhead on Saturday.

Was going to drive up to World Woods this afternoon but decided against it. Got a ~3 o’clock tee time at Eaglebrooke tomorrow afternoon.

You’re more than welcome to join. I can swing by and pick you up if it isn’t too far out of the way. I keep forgetting where you live

That’s it

Is it way out of your way? I make the trip to help out a buddy who has to get a sitter when he plays.

There’s a lot of water. But it doesn’t come into play quite as much as it seems. Even on holes lines with water your landing areas can be as much as 40+ yards right or left of it.

Or, maybe I’m just used to it after playing this course for 2 decades

Not too long ago a large group of buddies were playing at Olde Oaks out in Haughton, LA (course isn't looking great but is on its way back).

We are on hole 5, short par 4. Me and my teammate are next up on the tee box and he steps up to hit. Now I've seen some crazy, terrible, just wild tee shots...... but he lines up over the ball with a 3 wood, hits a worm burner, it centers the women's tee box marker, shoots 50 feet up in the air and on the way back down he catches it. Absolutely incredible, I couldn't have hit that small tee marker with a million tries.

Never seen that in all my life and doubt I ever see that again.

Ok, so I had to come back to this thread.

yesterday @ webb. #14 concrete creek. I’m playing like shite. Hit a 3H & somehow manage to pop it up. Of the many ways I can mis-hit that club, this is a first. So I’m watching it slowly come down and into the abyss.
It hits on my side of the creek bounces across the creek, instantly giving me a glimmer of hope. Didn’t last long as I could see it wasn’t gonna make it across. It hits the other side, about half way down and bounces back up in the air. NEW HOPE. I’ll be damned if the bastard doesn’t land in the dead center of the fairway, 20 feet or so away from the creek.
Hit an 8iron in, 1 of 3 pars on the day lol

I’ve seen some crazy shite happen on that hole. That takes the cake
