Yeah reading between the lines it seems like what may still be undecided is whether PIF is completely cutting the cord immediately, phasing it out entirely but over a longer period, or simply reducing its financial commitment in such a way that purses and guaranteed money will decrease but the league could continue in some fashion.

And it looks like the Saudis aren’t exactly being open business men with their LIV employees (shocking I know)

This would have never happened if Greg Norman was still invovled.

I’m guessing the PIF gave enough funding to finish this year and they’ll just fold the league.

Can’t imagine how much work will have to be done to right all those contracts with players, sponsors, venues and other stuff.

Again I’m just guessing lol.

Jim, what do you think about LIV losing PIF? Shouldn’t really matter in my estimation. Tons of startups lose millions a month with no sign of revenue growth as you and others have told me repeatedly. So I would imagine other investors will pounce on this opportunity

Not sure how that is funny? First of all money-watching another man's wallet and being angry about that is weird enough, but a guy with legit reasons to do it is even weirder.

You are such an interesting human. Like… what point to you have to get to where you believe such ridiculous things solely because it supports your original POV.

Once again nobody who ever once argued against me ever actually beleived what they said

It was a man’s version of “drama” that they just wanted to create. Was extremely strange

This is my guess too and a lot of people probably share that opinion at this point.

They can't come out and say that, though. If they aren't folding the league immediately, then they have to say LIV is as strong as ever and committed to the future for years to come. Otherwise they have no leverage with the players or for a potential merger.

I'm trying to figure out if this is a serious comment or a joke.

Guy on Golf Channel just said it best.

Saudi paid way too much money on a bunch of washed up players.

Hopefully the PGA Tour holds the LIV Players that bad mouth the Tour accountable and make them earn their way back.

Wasn't most of the player money paid up front? Wasn't that one of the perks...the golfers got their money as a signing bonus. If so, that money is gone already.

As far as sponsors and venues, there are always outs in those contracts. If PIF is pulling the plug now, then it means it's cheaper to cut bait than to fish for the rest of the year.

They will create specific stipulations for the ones they want back, similar to how they did a few months ago.

The players they don't want back will be fricked or have to go to Q school.

ETA: They could put some juice into the senior tour by sending Poulter, Westwood, Bland, Stenson, etc. there. They are all 50 or older

They'll probably be treated just like Reed. No equity and they can get back on the tour through other methods. Hatton will go earn it on the DP World Tour. Rahm will have to wear it and pay his fine to get back to the DP World Tour. Smith might just retire to Australia. Bryson might go full YouTube Golfer.

Rahm was already worth 9 figures when he made that move. He didn’t leave the tour because of his fricking foot

Rahm's career earning before leaving the PGA Tour was lie 50 million. Obviously some endorsement money too but he was not worth 100 million+ before LIV, no matter what some TMZ site may say.

Dude. He had 50 million just in earnings and was the biggest sponsor for Calloway and adidas. I think it’s more likely than not he was in the 9 figure worth category or within that world.

Regardless, thinking he needed to leave for money for his fricking foot is one of the most ludicrous things ever said about why he took LIv money

Saudi Arabia’s PIF is on the verge of cutting its support for LIV Golf, according to a report by the @FinancialTimes. Citing sources, the FT reported that an announcement on the PIF’s involvement with LIV could come as soon as Thursday, but added the final decision has not been made.

"On the verge" but also "no decision has been made"

All of these articles read like the PGA using their mouthpieces to try and use the confusion to bury LIV once and for all.
