You think it isn’t concerning one of the captains on their tour hasn’t been told anything after major stories of their entire organization closing steered?
Just seems like you would send at least an email saying “hey guys, we aren’t folding”

I guess. But if the rumor is complete bullshite, do the executives have to send out calming messages every time something like this happens?

I would say no if it was just twitter rumors from Monday Q etc
But when the telegraph and usatoday run stories about executive meetings and the potential cancellation I would say yes you should release a statement
If my company had a report on the USA Today saying we were going under we would have an email within minutes one way or the other
ETA: that isn’t true, our email would come before the story got printed
We have had many large stories written about us as a large firm. We always get an email prep on how to answer questions if we are asked about it

Bob has been one of the most involved reporters on LIV
If they aren’t talking to him they aren’t talking directly to anyone

The tour gave Rahm his chance at amnesty. They should let him walk.
Yep. frick Rahm. He can go play on the Moroccan Tour.

Rahm can eat a dick. He was at one point the most vocal about staying on the PGAT and then flipped like a bitch.

“Every time something like this happens”? I don’t think rumors of a pro sports league shutting down entirely is the type of rumor that just comes up frequently
Nothing quite like this has happened since the USFL closed shop. It’s a pretty big story

It’s very clear to me something is happening. If it wasn’t - LIV would be way out in front of this with statements, visibility, and tweeting about the tournament starting.
None of that is happening. Very odd.

Yes I don’t doubt that. The meeting in NYC happened & there is *some* truth to the rumors. I just think the timeline has been exaggerated.
It could be earlier but it seems realistic that we will know something by The Open in July

He has a foot condition that causes issues all over his body. He's likely to have to retire early. He wanted to provide the best for his family he can with the guaranteed money from LIV. How people can be upset with that blows my mind. Grow up.

They literally just had the pre-tournament interviews with the teams, are having the pro-am today, and posted the tee times for tomorrow

Will our lifestyle change if I got $400 million? No, it will not change one bit,” he said. “Truth be told, I could retire right now with what I've made and live a very happy life and not play golf again. So I've never really played the game of golf for monetary reasons. I play for the love of the game, and I want to play against the best in the world. I've always been interested in history and legacy, and right now the PGA Tour has that.

Not sure how that is funny? First of all money-watching another man's wallet and being angry about that is weird enough, but a guy with legit reasons to do it is even weirder.
Posted on 4/15/26 at 12:48 pm to JimTiger72
Assuming the issue is Saudi funding, sure it doesn’t help that their biggest draw’s contract is up after this year and is asking for $500 mill guaranteed to stick around.

Because you made all that up

Rahm was already worth 9 figures when he made that move. He didn’t leave the tour because of his fricking foot

I just heard on the radio that when the framework agreement was reached between the PGA Tour and Saudis back in 2023, even the Executive-level guys from LIV didn't know it was happening. It was done directly through the PIF.
So there's a good chance that the reason none of the Executives are commenting is because they, too, have no idea what's happening.
Posted on 4/15/26 at 12:52 pm to lsufball19
Financial times just had a report that no final decision has been made on LIV or its future but that all indications are that PIF has decided to cut back significantly on its financial support, perhaps even completely withdraw funding, and that an announcement on specifics come as early as tomorrow.

They can’t make a single payroll or payment to anyone without PIF
I’m sure the meeting by liv officials was literally “what the frick do we do if they pull PIF?”
And the truth is I have no idea. Let the players and employees and everyone else owed payment sue in Saudi courts?
