Unless there is a group in front of them they should definitely let a single play thru.
But if you just skip a hole or replay a hole you can actually keep moving instead of sitting there behind a 5-some.

The last few times Ive played SM and BC a strange amount of young guys with their gf’s or wives. Most weren’t playing either. Just riding. The ones that were playing were horrendous but they did let us play through so props to them for having self awareness.

Worried about BR golf. Playing some of my best ever but growing frustrated waiting ten mins to tee. Ten mins for approach, then pulling up to next tee where the current group is just sitting there.
I enter this conversation cautiously because I work in this business. As a poster on here said a single has little to no standing on the Tee Sheet. Beaver Creek lets them go off as a courtesy because there is a lot of unbooked times and no-shows. Golf courses need to fill the tee box up and singles dilute the flow of golfers on the course.
I played as a single today and ran into a similar situation and rather than complain I realized that my best option was to do something else. I got to a hole and there was a 4some on the tee, a 4some in the fairway, and one on the green. There is not much going around this so I went back and played the front 9 a second time and gues what... nobody in front of me for the whole 9.

Nothing different than your average morning commute. Most people are driving cautiously on cruise but the random F250s zig zagging because everyone is in their way gets the blood boiling.
With that said, there is nothing fun about a 5-6 hour round. Reason I joined a private club.

I play multiple times a week. I don’t want to be out there for 5 hours. You can not rush and still finish in 3 hours or less.

They should have let you through, but in reality, one somes have no standing on a golf course.

No.
Just understand that golf course are very crowded since 2020, and that a single has no standing on the course.
If you see two holes open, and are in a cart, pass, but play quickly.
Or join up with whoever is there.

If the course is wide open as a single absolutely, I’ve taken my time and done 3 hours while trecking through the woods looking for lost balls to restock my bag.
I just know when the course is booked up it will be a 5 hour maybe more playthrough, so I plan accordingly (aka get the liver ready for a few more beers). I just see so many people out there on a weekend trying to rush the guys in front of them because they think they should be able to play a round in 3 hours at 1 pm on a Saturday, and that frustrates me more than anything.

If you are trying to play at public courses on the weekend and expect to have your own tee time and be let through by every group ahead, you may want to quit. If you are ok with being put in groups or taking extra time to practice while you wait, then you don't need to quit.

That sounds miserable to play in. I'd much rather do 2 and 4 or 3 and 3. I could see finishing on the lasts hole together or something, but playing with 5 other guys for a round would not be enjoyable.

There should be nothing less than 3 people on a tee time on FRIDAY-SUNDAY.
Singles aren't allowed at my club on weekends cause it actually hurts pace more than helps it. Yes 5somes are typically slow, but a single or 2some on a weekend morning are the ones who will be causing the pace issues.
