Absolutely.

They are the same thing every year except they’ve added ultimate team, allowing for more money to roll in.

They are too complicated. I like the more casual games like NBA Jam. I'll take Mario Kart over Gran Turismo or Forza any day.

Nobody really rates them that highly though.

I don't even consider them video games myself.

They just sell a lot so they keep getting made.

Yeah I think even the people that buy FIFA and Madden every year know it’s the same shite every year

Overrated? Do people rate them high?

I play FIFA. I do like the show, but not buying it again until they actually fix online. Prob will never happen.

yes, all EA does is roster updates, with more in game purchases.

it's amazing how retarded gamers are, they purchased DLC and loot boxes, now are crying, because the boards are wanting the game creators and studios to milk every penny they can.

Worst of them all, are the morons who pay $20 or more on work in progress games. Seriously, you are really stupid.

Majority of DLC was already in the game, they just found morons willing to pay for 2/3 of game, then rest later.

it is unfortunate I used to love sports games and would purchase multiple titles per year

Madden used to be an annual must buy
CFB was awesome and fun with dynasty
I used to like NBA live with the freestyle stick(PS2 generation)
Tony Hawk Pro Skater, NHL games were enjoyable as well

somewhere along the line the companies stopped giving a frick and this has been going on for years.

I bought and returned my first madden title in the last 3 years and honestly dont think I will be buying another sports title again barring major changes going forward.

I used to play FIFA and NCAA Football a LOT. But I’ve lost interest and mostly stick to racing games.

Like any genre, the "popular" games are often not that interesting. But the actual best sports games are often crazy fun.

In particular NHL, Pro Evolution Soccer.

But I am a sucker for the fun style games - NFL Blitz was amazing, both Sega Soccer Slam and Mario Strikers are awesome. Sega Soccer Slam was completely underrated.

Been a decade since I played a sports game. Used to buy Madden & Woods for the console and would buy a baseball game for the PC. Got tired of paying for the same game.

I played golf the most. Madden was too damn frustrating. Always seemed like the game would just decide to screw you some games with tons of dropped passes and fumbles.

The people who are all gung ho about sports titles, like the people who buy the same game every year are usually not the "hardcore" gamer crowd anyway. I've know quite a few dudes over the years who didn't really like, play, or follow video games at all but had a gigantic shelf of football, basketball, and baseball games, they pretty much exclusively bought and played sports titles.

True. You’re basically paying for a roster update, slightly better graphics sometimes, and mechanics tweaks with a few extra added mechanics every so often.

Used to be that yearly sports title buyer until I realized that there wasn’t really a point in doing so.

The NCAAF games got to where the recruiting was more fun than the game itself. But then when the recruiting got boring after about season 3, the whole game was boring.
