The game is being released in one form.

Day 1 Update
That's a hefty update with a lot of good stuff. My hype train is starting to chug along a little quicker. At least the PS4 will have a head start, so I'll have time to see some decent reviews before I get it on PC.

The Day 1 update certainly looks pretty good.
I won't buy on Day 1, but it increased the chances of me buying at full price if the reviews pan out.

If you guys have been following, the /r/NoMansSkyTheGame sub has been some of the best E-Drama of all time.
The hype ship was non-stop and glowing until the first leaks, then the entire sub imploded on itself and salt was everywhere. Conspiracy was being suggested, mods were stepping down after threats. Then like 6-7 days after all that negative spewing and people talking mad shite, Hello Games posted a single tweet saying the huge day 1 update was almost complete and that it added new features and content, and addressed bugs and the entire sub is back to hype-city again.
It has been nothing short of entertaining.

I've been checking in on that sub and it's been pretty humorous. It wall all doom and gloom when ol' boy Daymeeuhn got a hold of the early copy. Now they're back to fellating the game designer.

That being said, I was always getting Deus Ex first then No Man's Sky. I play one game at a time. I'll be excited to see how this game grows with discovery.

I had not heard of this game before, but I have been wanting a badass space sim sandbox for years. I've been patiently waiting for Star Citizen, but maybe this can at least quench the thirst until that comes out.
