If you take a 4-5 month break, its barely hospitable. I haven't played in a few months and the idea of going back is, well, "where do I start".

Far Cry 5 - 515 hours.
My favorite sandbox shooter of all time. That and the fact I live about 30 minutes from Hope Valley. Or at least the Idaho equivalent of it.

probably one of the big mmo either wow or everquest. no idea actual time....no sure i want to know.
I played EverQuest 2 for a decade daily while co heading a guild. I don’t want to know how many hours. I had at least 8 characters max level in both adventuring and crafting and would alternate between main tank and main healer for raids depending on attendance.

I'd have to go back and look at the actual time log, but probably at least 800 hours in Undermine.
I had a 41 run streak going in the Othermine. Then I decided to go for Siegfriegs Aegis run, and on the 10th floor I died in the stupidest way imaginable, accidentally the wrong potion which removed a curse but costs 75 health, killed me instantly.
Was so heartbroken I haven't been able to play the game since.

I have no idea what the total numbers are across all the different pc’s I played them on, but my hours on Rome: Total War and The Sims 2 are probably in the thousands. I used to play Rome: Total war in class in college, and The Sims 2 was my coping mechanism as a teen/young adult when I had literally zero money to leave my parents’ house/dorm. Odds are low that I have put 100 hours combined into either one since I graduated law school.
As for modern console games, I’ve definitely put the most time into Final Fantasy XV. I have one save alone with 80 hours. I would guess less than 200 hours total, however.

WoW, I had well over a year of playtime. Sold account just before Burning Crusade for $1200.
Feel pretty pathetic about it looking back in time 15 years

Part of me regrets how many hours I spent gaming as a teen, but the reality was I didn’t really have a lot of other options. I had no money and few friends. I wasn’t getting invites to parties, and even when I had access to a car, I had no money for gas to drive to the city. I could have done more as a freshman in college, but the reality was, gaming really kinda was the best option I had much of the time. Sometimes, life just kinda sucks.

1400 in Kerbal Space Program over a decade. Still play occasionally, will play the sequel when they figure it out

I played Guitar Hero and Rock Band throughout all of college. My catalog of songs was close to 1,000 across all games. Figure an average of 4 minutes per song, and me having played each of them at least 20 times, that works out to around 1,300 hours of me pressing buttons on fake plastic instruments.
I think I put about 1,000 hours into Clubhouse Games on the Switch. At least 900 of those hours was me playing President online with randoms. Fun times.

Kind of sad the lack of DayZ in this thread. I know some posters that pumped some insane hours into that game.
My time in DayZ is my peak gaming experience that will never be matched even with all its flaws.
Could spend hourrrrsss just camping a hill above a military base just for one interaction or to fall off a roof. Either way it was worth every hour I put into it.
If I ever hit the jackpot I’m going to pay my baws to play again. I’ll buy them all top of the line rigs. Maybe even retire them so they have time. I just want to relive it all again.

I played EQOA about 9 hours a day on average back in the mid 2000s for 2 years, so that's my #1 easily with over 7000 hours.
#2 is easily Minecraft creative mode. Been building a medieval kingdom off and on since around 2010 and easily have 2000 hours into it.
I have at least 1000 hours or more across multiple saves and accounts on PS3/4 OG Dragon's Dogma.
Diablo 3 on console is probably next, as I keep picking it back up from time to time and have solo grinded out well over 2000 Paragon Levels. No idea on hours because I get lost in the grind, but a LOT.
After that is probably Skyrim with at least 1000 hours across multiple saves. Probably around the same amount of hours into ACNH.
Then you get into the Final Fantasy games (IV, VII, VIII, IX, X, X2, XV, XVI and 7Remake and except for IV I've put hundreds of hours into each of those. I'll almost certainly put a couple hundred hours into going platinum on 7Rebirth because I'm in chapter 12 on my first playthrough and already have 75 hours into it.
Then, couple hundred hours into titles like Witcher 3, Ark creative mode, Oblivion and GTA4.
Going way back to the early-mid 90s, I sunk a crap load of hours into Super R-Type and Act Raiser on Super Nintendo, and my dad had this PC game called StarQuake that I was absolutely addicted to for like a year.
I don't really get into a lot of games. When I find a game I really like though (usually open-ended games with lots of endgame content/farming and/or a creative mode) I typically get REALLY into it.
