I still need to beat part 1. I was pumped to finally play it when I switched from xbone to ps5, ended up playing up to the first boss and never picked it back up which is weird being a ff fan boy. Although I always thought 7 was the most overrated so I wasnt over the moon like most were when it was announced they were remaking it

Just finished platinuming HZD (5 years late but great game). Maybe I’ll jump back on FF7R before forbidden west

Same thing happened to me. I wasn't the biggest fan of some of the plot changes and wasn't super motivated to continue. I'll g t wrong be to it though

Just started another hard mode replay. Really enjoying the combat system once again.

I'm glad that they're leaving last gen consoles behind.

Looking forward to this and Crisis Core remaster too.

Square absolutely nailed the combat in FFVII Remake. It’s a perfect mix of real time action and old school, menu based RPG combat.

Same. But for probably different reasons.

I hated everything about the slums - so much filler. I loved everything mission related, but then I'd end back up in the slums running around trying to find someones missing cats or something stupid and my enjoyment in the game would crash.

I got to the point where the plates were dropped (and loved that entire sequence). But then the party decided not to go after aerith but stay back to help the people of the slums. I had a Vader "Nooooo!" moment and never picked the game back up.

I need to power through and finish though.

Crisis Core definitely interests me. I played the original on PSP and it is a great game but the story definitely goes way out into left field

Ugh guess I will need to buy a PS5... Was hoping this would be PC day 1 as well.

I'm alright with some of the plot changes, I just know they're going to end up going off the rails with it before it's all said and done. These guys can't help themselves but to make shite ridiculously convoluted.

But yeah. I don't really play games anymore. I don't even own a PlayStation. I picked up the remake to play on old roommate's PS and I didn't even get past the first boss. I actually liked the game, I don't know what it is. I just couldn't do it.

You need to edit your title, this is not remake part 2, it's a separate story.

It literally says remake part 2 in the title of the video. Posted by ign

ETA - Googled also and can’t find anything that agrees with what you’re saying so if you can show me where the title is wrong I’ll change it.

Square Enix has finally announced the second installment in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake project, though it's no longer calling itself a remake.

Nothing in that article I read conflicts with the thread title. It’s still part 2 of “FFVII Remake” even though they aren’t calling it a remake anymore (FFVII Rebirth, also in thread title). Besides, it not being a true remake should be obvious to anyone who played and finished it

The title itself doesn't say part 2 in it, but the devs have acknowledged that it takes place after the events of Midgar, which would in fact make it a part 2.

It's obviously part 2 of the remake project.

But to his point it seems it will no longer follow any of the original games story. Killing the time cops will allow Nomura to go even more kingdom hearts.

Yeah, definitely power through and finish.

The unexpected search for a certain Avalanche member leads to a side story that sheds real light on the evil and corruption of the Shinra Company. It adds some great depth to the overall story as well as Cloud's past.

The slums definitely had some redundancy, and IMO one trip through the collapsed freeway was more than enough, but I loved the game even with the plot changes... probably because I'm pretty sure I know the direction and twist the developers are working towards, and it will make a wide-open plot that I believe will still end the same but just an altered path to get there.

The way they are moving forward with this game screams kingdom hearts.

Sometimes I just shake my head at SE but I shake my head all the time at Nomura.

Picked it up for PS4 but never finished it since I didn't want it to end. Will need to pick up the new one on PS5 since it has the expansion with Yuffie.

This will be a Day 1 purchase for me.
