Been slowly getting into good boardgames and trying to build my collection.
Really been enjoying Wingspan, Scythe, Pandemic Legacy Season:1, and the 7th Continent.
Any of y'all have some favorites I need to grab?

Depends on what type of games you want. There are so many good ones now.
Something in the same realm as these might be a Lords of Waterdeep (Only with the expansion, without it it's too easy).
If you want a decent step up, I like Yokohama a lot. For another step up you get to one of my top 5's in A Feast for Odin.
If you like closer to video games - Kemet or Street Masters. Or Root.
I'm also a big fan of the Carson City Big Box - building a western town. A few more moving pieces than some of your favorites, but the game is a ton of fun - and you get to duel over actions.
My two recent games of of the moment are Pax Pamir and Empyreal: Of Spells and Steam.

King of Tokyo is a great one. Many people enjoy Ticket to Ride, but I'm not a huge fan of it

Gloomhaven
They have a shorter, more streamlined version called Jaws of the Lion if you don’t want to commit to the full version. Frosthaven comes out in 2021 I think

Betrayal at house on haunted hill is one of my favorites

Dead of Winter is fun.
May I suggest checking out Table Top on youtube. It's Will Wheaton, and friends, doing play throughs of different board games. It definitely helps you understand them better

Not a huge fan of how the game is so RNG heavy, and it's got a kinda boring mechanic after the first few games

I would also suggest Deception: Murder in Hong Kong for a hidden identity game. That's become our go to. Easy to understand, and a lot of fun.

There has been a renaissance of sorts with board games the past decade. There are so many good ones. There are also a lot of good suggestions in this thread. Here’s another classic though that’s worth playing again: Clue.

This is a good one to play on a tablet or phone, although it can be infuriating in that the AI players never accept your trade offers but then they'll keep coming back with the same trade requests over and over again no matter how many times you reject. It gives you the option to decline all trades until your next turn but then you feel like you might miss something worth acting on.

What number of players do you typically play with?

I've been starting a collection too.
Have Pandemic and Ticket to Ride to play with niece/nephews and kid when older.
Bought Betrayal the other day.
Considering Terraforming Mars.

These are games I own and enjoy playing.. If you like war games , Memoir 44 is great. Doesn’t take nearly as long as most war games and has cool expansions..
I love Stone Age, Sheriff of Nottingham, King of Tokyo, Takenoko, Munchkin(card game) Grimm Forest to name a few..
Stone Age is a worker placement game where you have multiple tasks to keep up with. Sheriff of Not. Is a game of smuggling goods(cards)with bluffing.. as one person is the sheriff each round and he can check your bag to see if you have illegal contraband.
King of Tokyo is a fun game of dice rolling with monsters ala Godzilla like...
