Sounds like GTA is giving up on everything that made it a great historical franchise. A great single player mode, uniquely rough and crude dialogue and gameplay, committing crimes is the name of the game. Now we’re going to ditch all of that bc of the success of GTA online and PC culture - will ship a very weak single player campaign by shipping half a game at the start and ditch all of the usual crudeness and brutal honesty of real life for PC woke BS

The issue is that it is virtually all entertainment media going down this path. Anyone who wants to remain largely apolitical or retain the old school liberal values of free speech/open dialogue are targeted for cancellation.
Rockstar was never conservative but the overton window has shifted so far leftward, especially in creative circles, that they are considered practically alt right by todays standards. Between new blood who are likely majority millennial (see also: insane) and the desire to avoid a negative association with 'right wingers', this shift seems inevitable.
I don't know how you reverse this trend, but it produces absolutely awful art.

No it’s not. It’s a fricking FACT. Every single thing you retarded crybabies have touched has been ruined. You can’t tell me one thing that liberals have done to this country that has been a net positive. Not fricking one. Anytime something goes ‘woke’ it backfires.
Video games are a tool used to escape the every day realities people face. It offers a chance to not only laugh at everyone, but yourself a little bit. If GTA does indeed change their game because of this progressive ideology bullshite, it won’t be a positive and the game will be worse off because of it

It's probably going to be less stereotypes with their NPC's, honestly.
Like someone said already, this is a sandbox game for me. I can tune out any social commentary that might be present easily enough.

It probably also has an impact considering the vast majority of my GTA time was playing the online version, not the single-player campaign. None of the NPC interactions for the missions contained racist dialogue and I really don't pay attention to what NPCs standing around say at random unless it was amusing (usually yelling at me about my driving).
