Yeah, Rockstar's best days are far behind them. I'm still pissed about their shitty remaster of the original trilogy and almost a decade of no story mode updates for GTA V.
The leadership at this company now is a joke. They deserve to crash and burn and it seems like they're doing their part to make it happen.

This is from Jason Schreier, who is probably the most connected journalist in the games industry. If he's writing about it, it's true.

And you're being a reactionary over rumors for a video game that won't even be out for two years. It's cowardly and limp-dicked to just say "progressives ruin everything". There's no thought behind it. It's just incendiary.
Plus, being offensive, by itself isn't worth worshipping, comedy-wise. I've seen and performed with plenty of people who thought being "offensive" was enough to get laughs. It's not.
Also, every new release (forget the "remasters") from them has been pretty fricking amazing. I'm gonna go ahead and trust them on this.

Regardless of any of that, the Houser brothers aren’t at Rockstar anymore, and the game shouldn’t be given the benefit of the doubt just because there’s goodwill from the old games.
