They might be able to expand toward the interstate along Perkins, but that's it.
Yeah, that's what I meant. Take out that parking. It's not needed and will easily get a variance.

I don't like Happy's but maybe this will motivate Ivars actually put some money into its bar
Are you kidding me? There is no way Pat puts money into that bar or in any way will he work to improve it. He's too stubborn and thinks he is doing fine.
Its a shame too. Ivar's could be a great neighborhood bar if he didn't run everyone out with exorbitant drink prices.

I'm okay with Happy's being there.
Wednesday piano bar downtown is fun. They try to do live music, and I'd love to go and hear some there sine it's close to my house. I'd love a Happy's Running Club run from there and around the lakes. If they would try to become a good bar food place, I'd like that, too. I see some potential if they play their cards right and try to fit into the area.

if Happy's starts putting a dent in his business he may reconsider, or at the very least maybe clean his shitty taps or lower drink prices

Bingo. Sunday Runday already starts there, so Happy's would be a better post-run watering hole.

Thankfully he's no longer a council member, so luckily his influence has more limits than it used to.

No chance. You must not know Quigley very well because you are using WAY too much common sense.

Last time we went to Zee Zee Gardens, it just seemed like they had given up. We stopped in three or so years ago. The place was dusty, the screen on the Golden Tee machine was messed up. My wife and I ordered a second round of pints and we were told they were out of glasses so they had to serve us beer in plastic cups.

It will not be missed by most of Baton Rouge. It has been open for quite some time (33),and I have never been in once. Its reputation is as a bar where young ladies go to meet thier junior league lawyer or other professional to marry.

If you all chip in I could just have a jockeybox set up.

Ah, wouldn't say Wilson gave up. He was catering to his clientele. Hardly anyone that went there wanted to play video games. I don't know a single person that went for his draft beer. His business was steady so there was no need change and frankly, it was all he wanted.
It was dank neighborhood bar with characters in it. Great place to drink after work at a reasonable price, hide from your wife and shoot the bull with guys.
Its cool if you want something nicer. Go down the road to Bulldog or another mega/chain bar. They have their place in the world and are great for dates.

I believe you when you say you have never been because I am wondering if we are talking about the same place.

With the amount he must have to spend on medicating himself every month, he can't have much left over.

I live right there by the overpass. This is a welcome change for me, hopefully will bring some new talent to the nightlife
