Isn't New York known for high quality food trucks? Like, everywhere... I would qualify that in the cheap category despite it being a tad more pricy than your Texas roach coach.

God I pity the tourists from Minnesota who read that article and go there thinking they've found a gem.

Like a tourist from Minnesota would know any better. To them, it is a gem.

Except it doesn't say classic dish. It says "signature contributions."

Maybe the Po Boy and Beignets are overrated, but they are contributions.

You can say the same thing about dishes from most places. Philly cheese steak. Chicago style pizza. Memphis BBQ. It's easy to make any dish anywhere these days.

Funny how people downgrade the Po Boy and yet in countless Po Boy threads talk about how the only place you can get proper bread is in NOLA.

I also have to say that I've never had a funnel cake anywhere close to as good as a good beignet.

On a side note, what are NYC's "signature contributions?"

I know they have a lobster food truck.

I've never seen so many people butthurt over something on this site than New Orleans. Only thing that comes close to it is Nick Saban.

So the hot dog cart? It's not like those foods on the cart are NYC contributions.

I'm not saying NYC doesn't have more and better but solely based on the criteria the author listed, I can see the argument for NOLA.

I see NYC as better at taking what's out there and maximizing the potential.

NYC's signature contributions is being able to say "frick you" to every country and state and take their best chefs and bring them to New York

Yellow Cab is preparing to roll out a new version of its mobile app that will encrypt and store passengers’ credit card information, thus enabling them to pay fares directly from their phones or mobile devices.

Can't wait for the threads.
