I was being sarcastic with the po boy comment I don't know why anyone would brag about the po boy being your classic dish.

I'd agree with the po boy argument, although you're not going to get as good of seafood for the po boy once you get off the coast.
Now this can be true. You have more of a chance to get a shitty seafood poboy outside Louisiana

Im not sure either. I think we get caught up with the unique name and we run with it. It isnt even top 20 for me in terms of Louisiana dishes

There are so many damn dishes that are unique to LA and damn near impossible to get elsewhere at the same quality. Let's leave the po boy out of it.

Yes will pass it along. I've also used the funnel cake analogy. One of the most overrated foods ever.

I'm on your side, man.

Hell, even people from here in BR post on FB every time they go to New Orleans and how they CANNOT go without going to CdM.

Granted, I don't eat desserts much, so I'm biased. But "act like you've been here"

NOLA is not better than NYC

New York City is probably the 'best' at everything, but there's no fun in that. No one wants to read a list where NYC is obviously going to be #1. So yea, magazines and websites are going to mix things up.

New York has a way better fine dining scene and it's not even close at all. As for casual joints I prefer Nola.

Well NYC is the wealthiest city on Earth. How could NOLA even be close?

NYC street food is fricking awesome. It kept me alive during summer 2008. Two Bros, Mamani's, San Loco, .99 cent Arizona tallboys, long shred sessions at 12th & A, the Autumn bowl, good weed, Young Jeezy mixtapes.

Those were the days, mon.

Truth. I still say that New Orleans has better, more interesting foodways than NYC. It doesn't hurt, though, that Southern food has been "hot" for the last 5 years.
