I am just a Food Network junkie. I watch the competition shows (other then the baking shows).

Who is the best chef (who is a regular on the network)?

Chef Alex Guarnaschelli seems to win every competition she enters (I actually just watched her lose one).

Bobby Flay seems like a beast as well, but has been beaten by Alex a couple times.

Are these two the best chefs on Food Network, and are the chefs on Top Chef in the same league? I’ve seen a few of them on the Network, before and after Top Chef.

I use many of Bobby's recipes, but I think Batali was the best.

Cory Bahr kicked Flay’s arse with a fish dish a few years back.

Not sure who this is. I’m talking only about people on the network regularly.

I think Bobby isn't "in training" as often anymore. Alex is in her restaurant cooking daily still. Bobby is kind of past doing that often IMO.

I like Zakarian a lot myself. He does fresh food that isn't always too complex and he boozes hard

I think some of them absolutely are. The voltaggio brothers from the one season are top notch chefs.

Not sure if he’s the best but I’ve always wanted to try Scott Conant’s food

No, the chefs on Top Chef are not on the same level. A good friend of mine competed on Top Chef and he would be the first to admit that.

TFN used to be a favorite channel, now it's nothing but inane contest competitions. The best chef is likely some producer who splices the clips together.

Giada De Laurentiis is the only answer.

I watched flay cut himself and electrocute himself on an iron chef show years ago. It was pretty good.

Huge food network junky! Use to be on in the house 24/7 back in the day from the time it started up until, in my opinion when all the original chefs left the show and it turned more into a competition. Even bobby flay stopped his 1/1 shows. Less teaching and more competition. Now the only thing I catch my self watching is pioneer woman, the kitchen, giada, diners drive ins and dives, ina garden and a few more Chef only shows.

Not sure where the TV show is going but, just not informative for me anymore.
