I have to freeze mine longer. Mine are not done at 23-24 hours. Starting with hottest water out of tap. Will try with 26 hours and report back

I can see that too. I was thinking more along the lines of deep sea angler fish.

Yea that's what I'm doing is seeing how long it takes with what. I'm using a chest freezer and putting it at the bottom. So probably much colder than a regular freezer after openeing the door. And I hadn't been using the hottest water. I did just now and I'll check late tonight or early in the mornin to see how it went. I also think it's better to fill it so much that water is pooled in those top spots.

Gold is better to me too.

I find Gold to be consistently better but occasionally you get a SFTB that just absolutely knocks it out of the park.

Case in point a 2/14/15 I have is the best Blanton's I've ever had. Wish I had gotten more than 3 bottles.

Unrelated note, I'm headed to Costa Rica next month, I imagine the bourbon selection will be dismal. Any rum suggestions other than Havana Club which I'll already be picking up?

What should I expect the prices to be like for the Gold and SFTB in the Caribbean? I need to make sure I have enough cash on the side to a.) satisfy my needs and b.) not have the wife all up in my purchasing business!

I want to say I paid 70ish for the sftb? Also plan out how you will get them back. Bring bubble wrap and tape (things I didnt think about) maybe even a extra bag because those bottles eat up space. Also see how many each person is allowed to have...you may need to stash some in the wife's bag

My in-laws brought mine back from the carribean and the liquor store they bought from provided them a box and packing and said you could ship up to 6 bottles back in that box (it had built-in dividers) without issue. It worked out well for them using this option, all 6 bottles of booze came back without problem.

Yeah not a great price on shipping but I missed this bottle last year and it's still under secondary with shipping. Hope it's worth it.

Like shipping anywhere just get a few SFTB and it will help divy up the shipping cost...if they have any.

Their shipping is fairly high I usually try to order about 4 bottles at a time to divide it up so its a little less/bottle. They do a great job with packaging. Usually order 4 bottles of Single Malt around Thanksgiving every year.

If anyone needs help going in on an order...I'll do a Blanton's Gold to cut down on shipping (though it's not cutting down that much)

Paging any scotch drinkers...... Scotch drinkers......

Tried the Glenfiddich 14 (Blue carton) year old this weekend (I usually love the Glenfiddich 15). Man that bottle went down easy. Pretty reasonable in the mid $50 range.
