I hear it's pretty good. Looking forward to trying mine once I get my hands on it.

Ok so pretty sure this is my last announcement regarding tomorrow night. We partnered up with Calandros and are launching their Knob Creek barrel picks tomorrow night at The River Room. We are going to be drinking 10 and 12 year old Knob Creek for $7 tomorrow night. Calandros picked a couple barrels and we get to try them tomorrow!

You definitely want to come check it out if you're in town! Normally a single barrel knob creek pour costs $10/11 in town but Calandros and River Room worked with us on the price and we are getting it for $7, which is cheaper than regular Knob Creek. Calandros picked some stellar barrels last year and Taylor thinks these are even better. I can't wait to try them!

Will we be able to talk Taylor out of bottles yet?

Yes...it's big and bold. It's no birthday bourbon; however, it's damn good.

Thanks. I would have thought that the 1897 would be big and bold at 100 proof and the 1870 not so much at 90 proof.

Bottles go on sale Friday morning for $39.99 each. Come try them tonight and see which one you like more!

They are bourbon... I like all of them...

Maybe Taylor will offer a special to BSoBR members. Buy 2 bottles get 1 50% off...

It's cool, I've been so busy I didn't even realize it had been that long.

Just as a public service announcement, I've been told that The Cove will not be putting out a lot of their higher end bourbons anymore and will be instead selling them on various sites/groups, so what's on the shelf is in most cases what's left.

On that note, Saturday after the LSU game the EHT Sour Mash & Tornado and Four Roses Mariage were finished and there was a dent put in the VWFRR.

Yeah that is pretty bullshite if true. I'm sure they are getting a damn good return on those bottles to begin with.

That's why I was wondering why. Going out of business? Or just trying to make faster mad profits? There's what about 25oz in a 750ml bottle...pappy 23 @ 90/oz they make 2,250 off the bottle.

He said that he is making more off of just selling the bottles. Tried to give me a bullshite line about oxidation and such but money is the answer it seems.

It's a shame, I really enjoy The Cove. If this holds true, I'll be going to Olive or Twist a lot more.

EDIT: This isn't 2nd hand information, Tom told me this directly.

I'm not certain but can't they lose their ability to get good bottles by doing that??

If liquor stores do it, I don't see why a bar wouldn't be able to

I'm not sure but I will be looking into it.

Not that it really matters, I know they have stockpiles of everything. He has over 200 bottles of PVW23.
