Full on, frick that line of thinking. If you like the cheaper one, good for you. Your wallet will thank you. Higher dollar does not mean higher quality. Bourbon/rye is all about drinking what you like.
High West is an interesting distillery for me. Love the Son of Bourye, Rendezvous Rye, and older release of Bourye (didn't feel like the newer release held up to the original). While most people loved it, I HATED Midwinter Nights Dram (I think I just don't care too much for wine finished whiskey). Now I just have an extra bottle for trade fodder. The 21 year Rye I thought was amazing. One of the top 5 whiskeys that I've ever had.

I kid I kid. I never can pick out all these off the wall flavor a people talk about. Not that I dont believe them but it's funny sometimes things I see. Price, back story, bottle count means nothing to me...if I like the taste I like the bottle. The dude I remember seeing your eht lineup verry cool. I never had the sour mash but I sure would love too drink it.
