The one from Oregon? Pass. It's not good. I have half a bottle and you can have it.

Heading to New Orleans tomorrow and looking for some help on a couple fronts. First are there any stores near I-10 (coming from mobile), French quarter, garden district that I can pick up some store picks or even just some saos (can't get it here).
Secondly, I'm looking at going to Barrel Proof tomorrow afternoon for a drink. Any other recs for a good whiskey bar?

My go to whiskey bar in New Orleans is Avenue Pub. They have an extremely good beer selection too.
I'm not sure of any store selects out there right now. Dorignacs may have something but their prices can be insane. Never really been impressed with their picks anyway.
If you are looking for a good meal, try Cochon. Great food and usually they have some good pours. I had Seasoned Wood and ER 17 last time I was there.

Yea, Alabama is not known for cheap liquor. The Elmer T Lee was $39.00 at this store. 15 year old Knob Creek was $130.

I've tried the old world 12 and think highly of it.

Those are really reasonable. $96 for that pharaoh bottle on the other hand...

I haven't tried the sample you gave me yet. The last couple of nights have been met with wine.
