Just tried these 2 side by side, blind

Willet won. It was a little more complex and nuanced. Knob was big on spice and kind of a brute in comparison. Both really good. Willett hides the 126 proof well
Wick - I grabbed one of those KC SiB 115 proof rye store picks from a place up in Chicago and it’s phenomenal. Beat my Kentuck Owl batch 1 in a blind side by side. Let me know how that one is
That looked incredible. Can't wait to be at the next one.

Has anyone seen Rebel Yell 10 year SiB around Nola? Trying to figure out if it's hit yet.
TA, is that Elliot's improving for you any?

This is so much better than my elliots....thanks, donkey? Donkey did I get you any of mine yet?

Glad you enjoyed it, sir. I haven't tried yours, but yeah, that would be great.

And thanks again for that last sample. Me and some friends had an epic tasting with it.

Awesome, TA. At Martin's Metairie? October 27th or 29th? I'm in.
TA, so yours is in the same warehouse as mine, obviously, but who knows how close 47-1Q is to 53-3L? I have no idea
TA, what proof is your Elliot's? And what's the other info on the front? Just curious. Trying to pin down the location.

Here's mine (which I really like):

Good call!

I wouldn't shoot you crooked. :)

2014 ER pick...thanks to thadonkey

My pleasure, TA. I see you have a bottle of Elliot's Select. What did you think?
TA, what year is that Weller 200 ml? And how is it?

Just got an '05 Bernheim. Haven't tried it yet, tho
On their menu it's called Cecil's Cocktial.

It's sort of got an iced tea kind of theme, but it's pretty much like the perfect balance. I was looking for a bourbon cocktail that wasn't all booze, like a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned.

This one doesn't taste strong, but it'll sneak up on you. It's half bourbon, but you'd never know it just by tasting it.
Got this recipe from high hat. Super refreshing

2 oz Bourbon (they infuse it with tea - drop a black tea bag in the bourbon for 10 minutes)
1 oz Steens Cane Syrup
1 oz Lemon Juice

***shake***

Over ice
Splash of soda
Mint Garnish
(Luxardo) Cherry Garnish

TA, I actually had some of that Cork & Keg last night, too.

Hey, what did you think of Jamie's new SAOS pick? The 10 year 101.4. Man, I think it's delicious. I had it side by side with another one of Jamie's 10 years, a 102 proof from earlier this year. The new one was much better. And the older one was great to begin with.

He really nailed it this time. But i guess he's kind of known for that.
It's got me wanting to try some other OESKs
Elliot's is probably my favorite bourbon I've tasted. Sweet on the front end with no spice, then medium spice on the finish. So there's 2 distinct parts to it, which I like.

Ezra B. 12 was okay. Not gonna go out of my way to get one.
Had some Ezra B. 12 year at Hot Tin, then finished up with this
TA, did you see the 1.75s of Martin's ER10 pick were $51? Can't beat that price
Stagg Jr is literally hot garbage. Never had a bourbon that tasted like gasoline and bad medicine before this one
