Longhorn Liquor in Beaumont.

Not sure about hidden gems, but besides Specs and Total Wine, the Houston stores I like to check out:

Goody Goody (Tanlglewood/Woodway)
Ly's Liquor (East Downtown)
Rice Liquor (bellaire)
Nasa Liquor (Webster, by Nasa)
Tony K's (west U)

Old Forester Single Barrel, Barrel Strength, coming soon.

Bus...you have anymore info on this bottle as availability, preferably in NOLA. I loved the Single Barrel that came out earlier this year but I’m very much wanting the barrel proof bottle. Is it widely available by you?

what are these like? I have some chocolate bitters I use sometimes for a changeup from the orange bitters. Curious what these are that you use.

I taste orange and cinnamon with these. Looking them up the flavor profile they have listed cinnamon & orange peel, gentian & chai tea, sour berries and ginger

this particular one seems to be a single barrel done by Longhorn liquor, who will have 150 bottles total spread out through their 6 stores. People will likely be lined up early Saturday morning for them. Not sure if I'm into doing that.

Thoughts on RH? I have been tempted to grab the Derringer, but I don’t like blind buying $70 bottles. Is it worthy that price?

Meanwhile, I’m enjoying a Pinhook rye Manhattan. And the good news is my wife is liking it too. She’s trying to transition to bourbon, and we finally found the cocktail that she likes and can drink.

I got these original bottles for $50 before their regime change. Another poster mentioned the renamed bottles not being as good. If you can find the original rye, I would probably buy it at $70 but not sure if I would take the gamble on the Derringer.

Yeah I feel the same way. Just saw a post from a liquor store in Prairieville here that said they would have store pick bottles available Saturday as well. Said doors open at 10am and to respect Covid protocol while waiting in line to get in. I’m out. Hopefully I just get lucky one day when hunting the area.

Just had some too while rewatching lsu v texas. It's a quality release that will be readily available in LA soon, according to Eddie Russell.
