If you tap the photo after the upload and hit up the up arrow afterwards it should copy the link with a .jpg extension which is what you want.

Oh yeah, that worked. I've been using opengur forever which is a lot quicker than imgur but opengur crapped out a few weeks ago. I've been using imgbb.

Yeah for some reason after I opened an account with the app the copy link doesn’t end in jpg which ends up not posting picture. I’ll figure it out I guess. Think my age is starting to show.

Been out of pocket for a few days and missed the store pick 107 fest. Dug around in the cabinet and found some old ABC store picks.

My guess is 3-6 months for more WT Rye. The guess is based on some good info, but honestly it's a crapshoot. general rule is to get product out before Christmas/buying season.

Eddie Russell told me himself that this was going to be limited at first, then just sit on the shelf like regular rare breed. He said that they barreled that much.

Question for the board experts in here:

I find that often times all I taste is the alcohol. Most times I sip and enjoy all the flavors, but there are those times (such as last night) where the ethanol is strong on my tongue and overpowers the flavors.

What am I doing wrong? I guess that's an open question, since that's difficult to pin down. Maybe what do you all do to avoid this, if anything? Should I be cleansing my pallet first, or is there a prep of the pallet? I usually let my pour sit 5-10 mins for the ethanol to evap out, which I didn't do last night on my first pour.

I went three last night in order: buffalo trace, high west american prairie, four roses single barrel

I was trying to test how much I can taste differences between the three, and the BT really put a burn on my pallet. After that the ethanol burn was prominent with all three.

During a tasting I went to at a distillery in Tennessee, the presenter gave us a small sip of the cheaper stuff to start. He said on the first sip your tongue is responding to the alcohol and produces something (I forgot what he said) that stays on the tongue. He said you want to leave that there and not drink water in between tastes or it will wash away whatever it is and the tongue would just try and reproduce it on each taste. Anyhow he said it could effect your ability to taste the true flavors of the whisky If you keep washing the tongue. Other than that, constantly giving it a small swirl in the glass letting it breathe and I tend to take smaller sips and “mash” it on my tongue to try and get whatever it has to offer. I have no clue if any of what I just posted about the tongue producing whatever is accurate but it seemed to make sense that day. Lol.

Edited to add that I’m so far away from a board expert but just wanted to chime in!!

what kind of glass are you using? I find that if I pour something neat in a rocks glass, I get way more ethanol than when I'm using a Glencairn style glass.

It's funny because I felt the opposite effect, or at least I perceived it to be. After that BT sip and that ethanol heavy burn, it was if my pallet never could get past it. I did notice by the last few sips of my 4R I was finally starting to taste everything better.

Rocks or this fancy glass that my kids got me last year for my bday. I was using that one last night.

It's odd though, because 70% of the time I don't have this issue with either of those glasses. What technique do you all use when you pour and sip, if any? I was told by a bourbon guy a few years back to always let it sit for 10 mins before smell and sip to let the ehtanol evap out. Is this a good process? (I did not last night). Is there some other tricks yall use?

By the way, bus, are you the one I met at the Cure concert a few years back? You were there with the girl you were dating at the time whom I know.

If it's something I'm tasting for the first time or just opened the bottle, I like to pour in my glass and let it sit for about 10 minutes before tasting.
