Old Forrester 1920 is one of my favorites.

I came home friday and did some bourbon tasting while i was finishing the scotch documentary on Amazon Prime. I had a glass of eagle rare, followed by EH Taylor Small Batch, followed by Woodford Reserve double oak. All some of my favorites. I haven't had the EH Taylor in a long time because its damn near impossible to find. I forgot how incredible that bourbon is. It may be my favorite bourbon. But now all the whiskey nerds are going to snatch it off of the trucks before it touches the shelf after the following news...

EH Taylor - World's Best Bourbon According To The International Wine And Spirits Competition

quote:

Last week the International Wine And Spirits Competition revealed the results of their annual tasting panel. In most major categories, anyway (for the scotch rankings we’ll have to wait patiently until September). There were plenty of surprises—such as an aquavit from the Orkney Islands of Scotland; a vodka distilled from rye in Colorado. But let’s focus instead on one particular name that is not at all shocking to see amidst a winner’s circle: Colonel E. H. Taylor Jr.

In awarding the Single Barrel offering a near-flawless mark of 99 out of 100, IWSR judges applauded its “intense nose of bitter chocolate”, riding a buttery smooth mouthfeel, with touches of peach and pepper in the mid-palate.

Another way of describing the liquid is that it is the ultimate crowd-pleasing bourbon. How do we know? Well, because it keeps pleasing crowds of professionals. The E.H. Taylor, Jr. lineup now consists of 11 labels and virtually every one of them has climbed to the top of connoisseur wishlists. In 2018, a Four Grain variant was named ‘World Whiskey of the Year’ by Jim Murray, in his highly-regarded Whisky Bible. The one-off retailed for a quaint $70 when it hit shelves. Want one now? Sure thing. It’ll cost you about $1800.

Went by Martin's, Hokus Pokus, Harvest and Alexander's all this weekend and could not find any EH Taylor or Weller 107 . Will have to try BinQ, Whole Foods & Calvins this week.

I don’t mean this to be rude, but don’t waste your gas.

The odds of you finding this in Louisiana is really really low.

Yep. The odds of you getting this in BR right now are in october, november, and december. The whiskey raffles are the only chance in BR.

If you’re in Lafayette/Metairie on a lucky day, that would be your chance otherwise

I’ve been trying to get it in Lafayette. I don’t think they got any shipment of toasted.

They have Barrel Proof sitting for $53. Good deal
