Kartchner's in Krotz Spring

Kartchner’s in Scott still has Boudin Rouge. Hard to find, several of the few remaining spots carrying it quit within last couple of years. Heard there was still a place in Thibodeaux. Lot of work to make it. There is a guy north of Breaux Bridge with a backyard operation processing game (people’ s deer kills) that was still making it year or two ago, but not sure he still does. His stuff was pretty good.
When I grew up, red boudin was breakfast at least 3 or 4 days a week. Neve r heard of white boudin (boudin blanc) until the 70s or 80s. I thought it was a step in the wrong direction.

No, overated and tourist food trap. It’s the only decent thing on Hwy 90 between Hahnville and Houma.

^^^ This place is legit! I've filled multiple coolers full at this place going back to Tampa from Vernon Parish.

My friend took me to Big Al's. I got out of the truck and the boil smell was so rich my mouth started watering so bad I almost drown in the parking lot.

vvv Also legit!

I like their fried catfish, and they make a good bloody. Always stop at the Des Allemands location for both when heading to NOLA. Stop off at the Galliano location for just the bloody to finish the drive south to the camp.
