Rented a little place in Fort Morgan/Gulf Shores just to get away for a few days.

What places would you recommend, that are possibly open in that area?

If you want to throw in Orange Beach as well that's fine. A little far but that's ok.

Go to Blalocks and pick up steamed seafood to eat in your rental or on the beach.

Bahama Bobs is always good.

How far down Ft Morgan? If you don't feel like driving all the way into GS, Sassy Bass and Behind the Pines are decent. Neither are worth the drive from GS, but worth NOT driving to GS from Ft Morgan, if that makes sense. Sassy Bass is the better of the 2.

Went last week to Fort Morgan, not much out there besides Tacky Jacks 2, which isnt that bad but a little overpriced.

And if you're in the Marinique/Beach Club area of Ft Morgan, it's just as far to the Tacky Jack's as it is to Gulf Shores proper.

Where exactly are you staying? Fort Morgan and Gulf Shores aren’t really the same. If you are way out Fort Morgan you won’t have many options.

Fisher's in OB. If you don't mind a drive, Jesse's In Magnolai Springs is great. Not sure when it will open for dining in though.

Any of those places that steam their seafood along that highway is going to be good.

I think the question is because there is a pretty sizable difference in driving time between the western end of Ft Morgan, and the eastern end. But if you don't mind driving, the only places in Gulf Shores proper I like are Salt River Grill and Papa Rocco's(for raw oysters). Both are pretty casual.

For something nicer, drive a little further to OB for Big Fish or Cobalt or The Gulf. The Gulf is all outdoor and casual, but good food. Those all can be 30-60 minutes from Ft Morgan during peak times.

Tin Top in Bon Secour is great if you’re going to be willing to drive 30-40 minutes to places.

It is definitely closer to the Western End than the Eastern end.

Very close to Tacky Jack's 2.

The Diner in GS kind of looks a little shady but I swear its the best food we have there every time we go.

We ate at the Sassy Bass a few years back and I remember the food being good.

In Gulf Shores, I like Sea & Suds, and it's right off they highway coming in, so you don't have to get too far into town. Boiled/fried seafood, cheap cold beers.

Ha I grew up going there. My family used to go to Gulf Shores a lot in the 80s and 90s. I've spent more time in OB and Destin in the past 20 years or so, just curious.

Gotcha. 30 minutes to Gulf Shores from that area. Another 15-20 minutes, maybe more if traffic is really bad, to Orange Beach. Use Waze and it'll take you the local roads to shave some time.

My top 3 recs are Big Fish, The Gulf, and Cobalt. Playa is also good. All of those are in Orange Beach.

The only place I think I’ve ever eaten in Gulf Shores was the Pink Pony. That was a cool arse old style place
