When we stay at the beach club we enjoy breakfast at sassy bass

Like someone else mentioned Jesse’s and Fisher’s upstairs would be on my list for sure

The Lovely and Talented Mrs. Lammo and I have dined at
De Soto's on 1st Avenue in GS many times. Nothing fancy. good food, great service. Good seafood.

Fish River Grill in Gulf Shores is a solid little hole in the wall place. Papa Roccos, for the oysters, and mixed drinks. Pizza not bad either.

We are there once and will never forget the burger plate with fries that was totally covered in cheese. Also the oysters were buried in Shredded Cheddar- it was rather offputting

Not one word was mentioned about the food, fragile creature.

Second the rec of Jesse's In Magnolia Springs. Check out Facebook for their latest menu. It's worth the short drive for a nice meal.

Bumping this as I'm staying in the same area.

This is probably a super retarded question, but can anyone head to the Kiva resort bar/restaurant and purchase things, or will they throw me out for not officially staying there? It's close to where I will be staying, and looks pretty swell.

Any other recommendations for bars/meals in that area that don't involve driving 20+ minutes to Pink Pony?

Kiva Dines golf course is closed for 3 months. Peninsula for 2 months. Sassy Bass just opened back up yesterday. Shoot we only got power back 3 days ago. It’s still a big ugly mess down here. Especially Ft Morgan.

Our rental agency (Perdido) sent out an email that they were canceling all October reservations. We rebooked a spot between 30A and PCB. Don’t think this a great time to be going there.

Friend,

I would suggest you avoid Paula Deen's Kitchen. It was terrible. I once went to Lambert's, where they throw the rolls, and do not understand the appeal. Long lines, cheap sides, and unsavory entrees at relatively high prices. Golden Corral has similar, but much better, food, plus all the sirloin your heart desires. I'm sure there are some good steamed seafood restaurants on the beach, perhaps now damaged, but I would not know them.

Yours,

Ft Morgan Road still has water over it and huge piles of trees everywhere. It’s taking an hour to get from 59 down past the beach Club due to demolition crews and tree clean up. I’ve got staff and friends that still can’t access their homes and some are getting asked to leave due to severe damage (Ft Morgan and Foley). Not a vacation down here. Be kind and patient if you do come down.

That sucks.

I should have clarified, my visit won't be until November. I get that not everything will be open, but I figure the area will be cleaned up by then. And I'm not looking to do much besides drink on the beach.
