For gumbo...

Barring supply issues, any lical and most chains usually have them

I seldom see them in Shreveport except around the holidays. Your basic Kroger and such will usually have them around this time of year.

Let me understand, you got the hen, the chicken and the rooster. The rooster goes with the chicken. So, who's having sex with the hen?

Pretty sure I’ve seen them at Bet-R.

I used to buy them at Albertsons, labeled “gumbo hens.” I no longer use hens, so I don’t know if they still carry them.

I can pick up a "Baking Hen" in any supermarket in N.O.

Love them for chicken noodle soup or gumbo since they have more flavor than a fryer.

Calvin’s did NOT have them today (fresh). They did have $10 fryers though! “Let’s go Brandon!”

When I've found them there, they've been in the first freezer case next to the deli. It's kind of where they put all the different stuff that's seasonal, doesn't really fit elsewhere, one off items, etc.

Also, if you're in that part of town, hit up Maxwell's right down the street. They usually have a very well stocked meat counter.

Call an AG store and order them. BTR by Perkins overpass will quarter them for you.

Try a Mexican supermarket. They usually have them. I think there is a Mexican market off Florida at Lovell.
