Do some of you live in such shitholes that you have to eat on some restaurant’s patio? Order your shite to go and eat it on your own back porch. Or front porch, for the extra trashy.

By the way, I’m team open the damn state back up. I just don’t get the fascination with eating on a restaurant patio.

People want to eat there food when it's ready and hot instead of waiting to drive back home?

like, period, or just now? One of my favorite things about spring is sitting on a patio with the pup and drinking some beers with friends.

It's nice to get away and not have to clean up. It's all part of 'eating out'.

Then go to Walmart like all the mouthbreathers

All the Karens and Chads whining about delays to opening up, what are they going to do when we open up prematurely and see another spike in a month that shuts us down for an additional 6-8 weeks? That'll be equally as devastating, if not more so, to the local businesses they claim they're trying to save. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Bored? Go read a damn book. Get a hobby.

Where is it you think the virus will go while we wait another month, two months, three months? It's going nowhere and any vaccine (much less mass distribution) within the next 18 months would be a miracle. The curve has been flattened. Hospitals are fine, and some are in financial distress because they cannot perform the elective procedures that actually make money. Open slowly and smartly where deaths are low and take personal responsibility for your own health.

I haven't been able to catch much of the news on this, so apologies if I'm unclear on it.

- No table service, so I assume it is more like a food truck setup where you order at a window/table and get your food in takeout containers?

- Will short order bar service for alcohol be allowed? Like people going back to the bar for additional rounds?

- Is this for anyone with any kind of patio? Or just moreso meant for places with like a bunch of picnic tables that are really spread out? For example, grabbing some takeout food and eating in a parking lot is quite different than going into a patio such as Superior that technically isn't much of a patio (it is a room whose windows roll up or down)

- I assume distancing rules mean you're not anywhere near other tables or people for socializing

I love me a good patio - just trying to get a mental picture, as this sounds closer to grabbing takeout and going have a picnic (which you could already do) than it does like patio seating.

It's obviously not going anywhere, and we obviously are not going to see a vaccine soon. But our numbers are still 12k+ for the metro area, which is nothing to just dismiss. Sit still, let the numbers continue to drop, and we can then ease into the new normal (whatever that might be) once we're at a point where we are no longer flirting with a second spike that undermines the waiting we've done thus far.
