What’s going on with Emeril’s Nola restaurants?

I’m coming through town at the end of the month and was looking to make a dinner reservation. His website shows the restaurants as still “temporarily closed”. Is that still the case? If so, what are they waiting for before they reopen? I assume staffing would be the only hold up.

Meril's should be open

Emeril looks to be divesting from a lot of places. Not sure if it is financial or just looking to reduce his footprint and simplify.

I have eaten at Meril a half dozen times and had no complaints.

This makes sense. If the company had any plans on doing this, I guess now would be the time.

I just found it weird that his flagship is still closed. Ended up making a reservation at Cochon for that night

I think there's a chance that Emeril's reopens at some point, but right now it doesn't look too good.

Definitely think they are reducing their footprint nationwide.

I certainly hope his original restaurant reopens. It would be a shame if it did not.

It is. He got hit hard with the Covid shutdowns and is struggling financially with it all. Hopefully he finds his way back

Meril’s a great place to go when you can’t decide where you want to go. Solid food, atmosphere, and service all around. Consistent with a diverse menu where there is something for everyone

The rumor I heard is that Emeril’s is moving into the Four Seasons when it’s done renovating.

I read a Press Release that they already had a chef chosen for the Four Seasons and it wasn't Emeril. I wonder if that changed.

The fact that his "flagship" sits with sheetmetal on the windows should be a bigger scandal than it is. He was more than willing to be a "cultural ambassador" when it suited him; he owes the city a little bit more than the average struggling independent restaurant owner.

Exactly, great place to go with a bigger group to celebrate. Is it the best food in the city? Not close, but very good and the drinks are top notch.

After seeing firsthand the exceptional job he did with helping his employees after Katrina I say he deserves a pass if he's not up to rebuilding again. He doesn't owe New Orleans shite. His presence in the city has been a huge net positive.
