What's a restaurant/menu item that you don't understand the love/hate.

Shrimp Po Boy at Jed's (BR) - The taste is fine but the bread to shrimp ratio is severely lacking. Parkway puts it to shame.

Monjunis (BR) - Is it the best? No, but I feel it gets shite from people that just don't care for a sweet sauce.

I nominate "Rocky & Carlos" baked mac & cheese. I know people who will go out of their way to buy it and brag on it like it's the Holy Grail of mac & cheese.

I've eaten it, and it's not bad, but nothing to go crazy over.

BBQ shrimp

98% of all those recipes are just shrimp in wine sauce and it has no BBQ taste to it at all

i mean i still like it a lot, but its messy as hell to eat, and the menu name is just a straight up lie

anything called BBQ should taste like BBQ

as far as straight up boiled crawfish, yes i agree on cost basis only. i dont buy it until its $1.99 boiled or i dont eat it and im fine with that. i laugh my arse off at the morons paying $7-$8 a pound for boiled crawfish

but if you meant as its cooked into things, then you are wrong

I had this for lunch today for the first time. I'll just say Darrell's special isn't so special.

We use the monjunis sauce at home all the time
Jeds is awful
They claim to be New Orleans style but charge you same price while skimping on ingredients

People swoon over shrimp & grits, but I've yet to have them at a restaurant where I'm absolutely blown away.

They're good, but I think overrated/overpriced.

Chick fil a. Yes, they try and are good when it comes to service, but the portions are for toddlers. Except the salads, which are for 8 people to share.

Also I hated the tiny cups from Weinerschnitzel.

I think Lobster is overrated

Got one in Maine back in 2020. It was good but not worth the price or effort to extract all the meat and I was hungry an hour later

It's fine on a lobster roll or as part of a surf and turf but on its own its good but not worth it
