Oxo is generally the best value kitchen tool for most everything.

Go buy their mango slicer, a mango, and get back to us.
I’ve had some good Oxo products and some not-so-good Oxo products. Don’t get seduced by the brand. Some of their sh*t sucks. And is often overpriced.

I bought two at Ducotes probably 15 years ago with the idea that one would break and I would have a backup. Still two in service lol

Just checked mine. I’ve had it for decades. I don’t even remember where I bought it. I’ve had it since the 90’s and it still works great. It’s a Swing-A-Way. Made in the USA.

Nothing German made?

I have a Rosle (made in Germany). Cuts on the side so no sharp edges. I have had it for 10 years and it works great.

Not sure who would even own a mango slicer

People who like mangoes? Slicing mangoes is kind of a pain. It’s easier to core an apple. The pith in a mango is a tougher obstacle to navigate around.
Just because the device has a fat rubber handle doesn’t necessarily make it superior. I have an Oxo paring knife with a fat rubber handle and the blade itself doesn’t suck but it’s coming loose. It’s probably nearing the end of its life. I won’t replace it with one of its kind.
I don’t like their storage containers. They don’t seal very well. I opted for the ProKeeper brand. The Oxo meat tenderizer hammer is lightweight. I bought an off-brand one at a fraction of the price. I have an Oxo metal spatula that I like but it’s not that old and the handle is dented. I have a garlic press that looks like it could be an Oxo product but it doesn’t say “Oxo” anywhere on it so I’m not sure who made it. If it was Oxo then it would say “Oxo” and probably would’ve cost more.

Smooth-edge can openers are superior and it's not close. Let my boy Alec Watson break it down for you. Yes, it's a 20 minute video on can openers. All of his videos are like this and they are totally worth it.

For someone that dislikes Oxo, you sure own a lot of it.

Military style P38 opener that comes with some brands of sardines. Indestructible!

I wouldn’t describe a knife, a spatula, and a plastic bowl as “a lot.” I threw the mango slicer in the trash. Describing things I examined at the store and determined that they were of low quality isn’t the same as ownership. I bought something else.
