went to a Waffle House Sunday afternoon and had the worst/strangest experience I think I’ve ever had at a food place. I’m good to not go back for another 10 years
Go on

I like city pork but you’re the first person I’ve ever seen say it’s a good value

Yeah, City Pork can be a good value if you order strategically and/or share items, but definitely not across the board somewhere I'd think is cheap.
I'd be perfectly happy to split the $15 club sandwich there with a friend, but that's not what most people are doing when they dine out.
Now if the topic was how to get out of various BR restaurants for cheap by sharing or ordering a certain way, I could write a list.
But I'm someone with a small appetite, so I don't know how helpful that would be for all.

Costco pizza and hotdogs. The food bar at any of the Carter's supermarkets is legit. Their chicken tenders are huge like Cane's used to be and both their fried shrimp and catfish are far better than most restaurants. They use LA gulf shrimp and Guidry's catfish.
Carters chicken and fish are delicious. I wish they would open a location near me.
I also agree that Costco pizza is a great value.
I think Blue Store has pretty good prices unless they’ve gone up recently.

I had the pork schnitzel for $28 and had enough leftover for full lunch tomorrow.
$28 is good value?

Racetrac hotdogs and hunt brothers pizza.

Every time I eat at BRQ I get great food and enough to take home for dinner. Never tell them it's your birthday, they'll send you home with enough carrot cake for a week. BRQ never gets a lot of love on the board, but I find the food excellent. Some posters don't praise their BBQ, however, I don't order BBQ in restaurants, the stuff I cook at home suits me better.
They catered an event for me once, they knocked it out of the park.

Definitely not "cheap", especially compared to other Asian joints in town

Waffle House and it isn't even close. You get entertainment, culture, and hashbrowns.
This is the truth and the way. I’m also a big fan of George’s Southside. If Tony is working I’ll pay double.

BRQ is not that good and it's overpriced.

Used to be. Now their appetizers are $14-15 average. You get 3 and you’re at $42-45.

Serop’s express. The servings are huge. One $12 plate can stretch to 3 meals for me.

This is 100% the truth. 5 sides plate for $12 and will last me 3 lunches. This is my go-to when I am lazy and didn't plan ahead for work lunch.

I ordered the Shrimp and Grits a while back. I believe it was $24. It came with a bowl of grits, 5 Chinese/translucent shrimp, and a drizzle of Worcestershire sauce. The entire bowl cost maybe 5$ to put together.

You probably haven’t been in a while . The 5 side is now $14.95 which is still a great deal. Stinks up the house and car but sure taste good. I recommend the stuff bell pepper.

Franks breakfast.
I had multiple conversations last week about Gino’s and every single opinion was that the place has gone downhill in a hurry. I haven’t been in a long time, but that makes me sad.

We went and ate at Mike Anderson’s in Gonzales a couple weeks ago.
