My wife likes cafe Maspero on Decatur

I like Daisy Mae's

Neither are fancy, just good New Orleans casual dining.

Interesting to see comment - I ate at Parkway this past Friday and I was “looking” for a salt shaker for that roast beef portion of my surf and turf. I do not remember it being so bland but it has been a few years since I have been there.

So we ended up eating at Jacques-Imo’s, Mother's, Parkway, Ruby Slipper, Lux Cafe, and Port of Call.

you kinda couldn’t have picked more touristy spots…unless you added Oceana Grill

but hey if you enjoyed them then who’s to argue. Port of Call is a classic, mothers is better than the bad rap it gets, and Jacques puts a good plate of food out.

Hard disagree. Mothers is horrific and Port of Call isn’t much better. It lives off of the reputation of 55 year old Metairie men who remember going there 30 years ago
