Even at Walmart, the price of snacks is ridiculous. Eating healthier is cheaper.
All food, healthy or not, are high.

Saw a beef tongue at Publix for $30.
Used to see them at Sam's for $10 and even then I thought it was a bit high. It's great for tacos, and I guess the demand from our neighbors who are now north of the border has driven the price up.

Boudin for $4.40 per link.

Then, I saw the below. On principle I did not leave Winn Dixie with ketchup that day.
Holy shite!
I pay $1.50 (or maybe it's $1.75, not sure, but it was $1 before covid) for a 38 oz bottle of Burman's brand ketchup at Aldi. No, it doesn't suck. The taste and consistency are nearly identical to Heinz.
Also, some of their Clancy's brand chips are pretty good (great for the money). I think their plain ruffled and sour cream & cheddar chips are about $2.25/10 oz bag. I believe they were $1.50 before covid. I'd stay away from their knock off Doritos...they suck.

'nother vote for ground beef. and it's usually terrible.
I like to get it at the univ meat lab. a little fatty but it's meat and not tendon/cartilage

I got a little over 2 pounds of lean ground beef yesterday for 11 dollars. I figure that's not too bad for making some homemade burgers.

$7 for a small bag of pork rinds from Billy's that used to be $2. Probably $9 now.

Brisket prices are absurd too, if you calculate the price per pound of edible meat after cooking a brisket, it's often cheaper to eat a decent steak.
Disagree. I just bought a brisket for $50 that was about 13 lbs. I froze half. The rest I smoked and then ate sliced brisket that night, used some to make shepherd's pie, used more to make a double batch of chili, wife had some for lunch and I used the rest for two breakfasts. So 7 meals for $25. Try that with a $25 porterhouse.

Costco sells their 88/12 ground beef for $3.99 a lb.

Brisket: $3.99 per pound / 40% yield= $9.98 per pound finished product.
Ribeye: $9.99 per pound / 80% yield= $12.49 per pound finished product.
Add in the additional time and supplies needed for a brisket and the ribeye is looking pretty darn good. I can make fajitas and a steak salad with the leftovers, too. Brisket is definitely more versatile and is incredibly delicious but there's not much of a price difference at normal retail prices once everything is factored in.

Albertson's
You people really need to get acquainted with the weekly sales ads for local stores like Rouses, Canseco's, Zuppardo's and Winn-Dixie.
I believe it was Zuppardo's that had lump crab meat for $10.99 a lb. and claw meat for $7.99 a lb. Zuppardo's also had gallon containers of oysters for $70.
Another store had 12 oz. crawfish tails well under $10 each but I can't remember which one.
When it goes on sale, stock up.

Did you read the OP ? It had nothing to do with coupons or weekly / daily specials.

Did you not look to see what post I was referencing?
Obviously not since it was concerning the one that showed a 1 lb. container of lump crab meat at Albertson's for $67.99.

I saw a loaf of keto bread (can’t remember the brand) in the Calandro’s freezer section for $26! I double checked, thinking I must be looking at the wrong item, but it was indeed $26 for 1 loaf.

Your post still didn’t make sense though. Coupons and sales have nothing to do with it. The poster to whom you responded posted the most obscenely priced thing that he has seen.
Who cares if it is on sale somewhere else for $1?

For reference a 30 ounce jar of Duke's at my local HEB is $4.66 or 16 cents per ounce. I couldn't imagine paying almost 60 cents an ounce for mayo.
Wal-Mart has a 48 ounce for $6.98. It’s an odd size but what I just noticed is the other is now 30 ounces. Blue Plate has been 30 ounces for awhile and Dukes had on the label “still 32 ounces”.
We’ve praised Dukes on here for that very fact. Well looks like in 2019 the family sold to a venture capital firm. Now the size shrunk and they have slapped the Dukes label on everything from bbq sauce to mustard.
Well they both are made with soybean oil anyway so I mostly make my own now.
Calvin’s Chicken Salad is pretty outrageous at about $18.00 a quart.
