I find their brisket a little overdone but I could eat those brussels sprouts all day.

Just had LA Smokehouse brisket for lunch and it was terrible. Don't recommend at all.

LA 23 in Belle Chasse is the NOLA brisket king.

I need to make a point of going here. I see it when I go to the shotgun range out there and have never stopped.

ive tried it 3 different times and got 3 different results. 1 mushy, 1 burnt, 1 in the middle.

Brisket pics in OP actually look good

I've had it twice and it was nothing but mushy.

LA 23 is incredible. They just opened their new building so their hours are a little better. The smoked sausage is on point too.

Really disappointed with the brisket from LA Smokehouse. The fricking meat was iridescent and no smoke ring at all.

Why does the chicken appear to be stuffed with something?

Same. Ive eaten there a couple times and the brisket didn't look anywhere near that level. I don't get all the rave about their chicken wings either? Might give the brisket another shot but im going to Finn McKewls if I want wings.

I think it's just the way it looks in the picture. It was a thigh sitting on top of a leg.

BOB's wings are damn tasty....ribs were okay (a bit overdone to me, I don't like slide off the bone), but I didn't like any of the sides. Garlic mac was not garlicky at all on my (admittedly just one) visit, sesame slaw was way way off (mine tasted like dishwater, or soap, or something jarring and acrid that might have also been rancid sesame oil), fried pie for dessert was heavy/greasy with tough pastry. So I keep meaning to go back and just have wings.

No white BBQ sauce? It's a perfect fit for smoked chicken.

Looks good though.

Does Blue Oak ever get tired of winning?

Trick question.

Of course they don't.
