Anyone know of a place relatively close to Lake Charles that has these bottles on the shelf?

The bad news is you’ll likely not find either of those on any shelf.

The good news is that there are bourbons on the shelf better than those 2.

Happy hunting

I like higher proof stuff so in that $40-60 range, I like:

Weller 12 by a mile. You might find it in Dallas. I also have a buddy that comes across some in Southern California every now and then. I haven't seen a bottle on the shelf in TN in 8 years.

Living in KY this is the truth. People here love bourbon and it's almost impossible to find anything remotely rare without greasing palms just for the right to pay 2-3 times the retail price. Hell, bourbon releases (aka standing in 20 degree temps at 4 am for a lottery) have become less numerous and harder to score at recently.

Tldr go somewhere where people don't like bourbon if you want something rare.

If you know anyone going on Royal Caribbean cruise in the future you can have them check to see if there is Blanton's for sale. Had a friend bring me back 2 bottles last week from their cruise.
