Tried Brisket for The First Time

I've never tried brisket because I always thought it was some weird type of Mexican slop that Texans rave over. I've heard about it over the years but also assumed it was just some food that gay people like because, again, the Texas thing.
That all changed recently when I bought some Brookwood Farms Real Pit Cooked Brisket from Publix the other day. After making sure it wasn't from Texas, I made the purchase and headed home. The packages I bought were from Siler City, NC.
I wasn't expecting much, to be honest. I heated up the little containers they came in and tried some in a sandwich.
I think it might have been the best food I've ever had. Barbecue doesn't compare at all to brisket, unbelievably. North Carolina does it right, wow. 5 stars. There is no way any brisket could be better than this and I don't see any reason to ever try any other kind.

I fought it for many many years… but sober living truly is the best.
Try to find you a nice way to spend your time outdoors. Throw in some routine exercise. Then maybe you’ll meet you a nice woman that you’ll want to spend the rest of your life with.
It’ll be a far better use of your time, I can assure you.
Good luck to you man… Jesus loves you.

You need to get your hands on some real sliced brisket when you are in Texas. Real good brisket wont' need any sauce either.
If you are in DFW stop at Hutchins BBQ, Terry Blacks, Cadillacs.
If in Austin, stop at Franklins, Interstellar, Terry Blacks as well.
I actually had Hutchins BBQ this weekend and had the brisket and a beef rib. The beef rib, OMG was unreal. The burnt ends from the brisket were amazing. Brisket is amazing, especially with a thin layer of fat on top with the crusted rub.

What about the word "brisket" sounded Mexican to you?

Very ironic because this may be the gayest thing I've ever read on here. "I've heard about this cut of meat over the years but I just assumed it was gay because the people in the state that does BBQ better than anywhere else love it."
Let me guess...you are more of a sausage guy, right?

A plus all the way around on this thread. The username, the thread title, the “Mexican slop”, the gay slur, the grocery store brisket…everything.
This is how it’s done
This is how it’s done
