They are opening up where the old Stage store was, behind Times Grill. If you are not familiar, they have many large stores in the Houston area. Big selection.

They are also opening one in Lafayette in a location that was previously a Stage.

It depends on what they stock.

There are certain wines you’ll find everywhere but they are supposed to have an enormous selection. If they have enough different wines thats good.

Although Aquistapace has a huge selection.

I went to the one in Mount Pleasant SC last week. It's a strange wine store. A friend who works for State Police said they cut alot of corners in the import/distrbutor side of things. Everytime I asked for something specific, Italian, fizzy red, natural, Gruner- the salesman just tried to pawn me off on some highly rated pinot or cab. It just felt weird.

Came to this thread to ask.

Drove by there yesterday on Vets and looked like the outside was completely ready to go.

None of which even mildly compares to Total Wines. None.

However, with the possible exception of Rouse’s, they are locally owned and operated and do make Total Wine unnecessary.

In another thread on here about this place, it was noted that most of their sales people really don't know much about wine and are given a play book of what to push to maximize their commission(or stores profit) and stuff like that.

I’m always puzzled at people who are upset by another purveyor opening up in any given market. How is having more choices bad for me as a consumer? Either they’ll find customers or they won’t. I think a new business opening up in our current climate is a good thing.

Yes of course as consumers we stand to benefit in the short term.

It just seems like overkill for the area and it will make a nonzero dent in the local businesses market share, which I suppose if you care about that sort of thing maybe it's worth getting "upset" about
