McPhail going to work for a restaurant group in Montana.

Meg Bickford, 34, the current sous chef, will take over.

per Ian McNulty, Nola.com

article seems to be behind a paywall, so wont link it.

I think Commanders is slashing salaries and Tory basically said I'm out of here because I don't want to be the guy who is in charge when Commanders files for bankruptcy protection so he left.

I wonder if they'll keep it for visiting.

The article indicated he spent summers in Montana growing up and his father lives there. He said it had been on his mind for some time.

Makes you wonder if he doesn't believe New Orleans is going to make a come back any time soon.

I guess that will put an end to Picnic Provisions too.

Yeah, but who is? Look at New York and other good food cities across the country. Everyone is struggling.

Just saw this. Really interesting news.

I believe the cost cutting thing is probably accurate.

I do think the food at CP has been sort of average for awhile. I don’t know anything about Bickford to know if she will update at all, but this is a huge break for her.

Picnic will still print money at that location. Helps having an owner with deep pockets.

He stayed on too long. I look forward to see how Meg puts her fingerprint on the menu.

Does it say which restaurant group he’s joining? Curious if he’s headed to Missoula.

I will use my 5000th post to welcome and congratulate Meg Bickford. I had dinner at Commander's about two weeks ago and it was great. Ti was having dinner two tables from us in the Garden Room and Tory came out to visit. Everything seemed normal. The restaurant was packed on a Saturday night, or at least as packed as it could be with socially distanced tables. I can't wait to try it under the new regime.
