3. Pappy Van Winkle
Pappy Van Winkle is the mountaintop of great bourbon. This is the most coveted booze out there. There’s a richness here from the present-yet-subtle oak that truly allows this drink to rise above. The sip starts with a nutty toffee essence that draws you in. From there, fatty caramel sits next to echoes of spice and oak. Everything in this bottle just works. Once you take your first sip, everything you’ve heard about bourbon will click.

7. Eagle Rare
Eagle Rare from the Buffalo Trace distilleries takes well-known bourbon flavors and dials them into a tasty bottle of booze. This one opens boldly with orange rind and maple syrup sweetness. Then the oak char and vanilla kicks in, giving it a classic old-leather-chair-in-a-smoky-library vibe. There’s a very distant tartness on the backend that hints at very big red fruits. It’s fascinatingly complex for a whiskey in this price range.

10. Basil Hayden’s.
We’re already hitting home runs with the tenth entry on the list. Basil Hayden’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon is a delightful treat. The corn mash base is amped up with a healthy dose of rye. That gives this one a peppery push on the front of the sip that’s followed by very light corn sweetness and almost mint finish.

Edit the title, because the article isn't saying these are the "Top 10 Bourbons" overall. Your title is extremely misleading.

I tore up some Elijah Craig and Woodford. For me, they are my faves. Never listed but I enjoy thoroughly

It’s as good as most on the list BUT like most internet lists it is somewhat silly. The title is:

The Best Bourbons To Drink Right Now, According To The Masses

Yet Pappy is on the list. The “masses” have not even had Pappy.

I have Eagle Rare, Elijah Craig, and Buffalo Trace in my whiskey cabinet. Eagle rare has become my favorite. I just polished off a bottle of Blanton's, and while i do like it, i don't know if i consider it #1. However, i don't consider myself an expert on bourbon either. Right now i'm just seeing what i like and ensuring i have some options in the cabinet.

From time to time I get asked from friends looking to get into bourbons and that’s exactly what I tell them to do, along with buying the $20-30 bottles 1st
Then you can move your way up the chain with similar mash bills once you figure out your wheelhouse
Worst case scenario if you have a bottle you don’t like you’re not out $60+ and can just use it for mixers

Those, plus Maker's Mark are probably my 4 go-to bourbons. I always have a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel as well for a nicer option. Recently bought a bottle of Elijah Craig Small Batch that I have yet to try, and was lucky enough to score a bottle of Eagle Rare 17 Year which is nothing short of amazing.

Blanton's never did much for me, but they have a cool bottle.

Makers Mark? Super dry. I won't drink this one.

Blantons, 80 proof. Better be smooth.

Pappy, $30 a shot and well worth it. $65 in Vegas.

Angel envy and Wellers not mentioned and better than most on the list IMHO

Bingo!! Elijah Craig and Woodford are my favorites too.
Every now and then I get a bottle of Coopers, not as tasty as EJ and Woodford but very smooth.

Woodford is laughably bad. The fact that basil Hayden’s and makers mark are in the list highlights the fact that the list was put together by someone who does not drink bourbon. Those are like putting bud light on a “top beers” list. Sure those are top sellers and are very high volume bottles, but that doesn’t make them good anymore than bud light for the same reasons.
