Superior's food is below par.

+1

amazes me that people think superior food is good

i think the cool factor affects thier opinion of the food

Why is that? I've never understood the coolness associated with Superior.

la mexicana taqueria (sp?) dos on Jones Creek and Tiger Bend. That food is sooooo authentic and very inexpensive. it's VERY good, i recommend trying the shrimp quesadillas.

The best in Shreveport/Bossier is the original Nicky's on Airline. Great Tex/Mex

I used to eat at the one in the warehouse dist....don't even know if it's still open...but it was IMHO the best true Mexican food I have ever eaten...it would be #1 on my list...even though it was cash only.

Taqueria Corona is awesome...I've only been to the one on Magazine, but it rules.

Ponacho's would make #1 on the "One of the Worst Resturants in Louisaina" And that's all categories.

Gotta include Oyster Bar (Shreveport) in this discussion. It's not totally mexican, but if you I had to classify it as something, that would be it.

IMHO, Superior is very much overrated. Very pricey for average food at best. If you do go to Superior, order the chicken or steak nuggets. Not on the menu, but TOTALLY worth it. Dip them in the house dressing.

I grew up in Houston with amazing Mexican food, and during my 4 years at LSU I determined there is no such thing as good Mexican food in Louisiana. Stick with the gumbo people

Casa Gomez in Mandeville is pretty good too

You'd think that, but there are some Ninfa's that are horrible. Even West of the Sabine.

You dont have to convince me.... Ninfa's has never been my place... that being said, comparatively speaking to some of the wastes chain spots.. the Baton Rouge one compares well

There really are so many average to sucky pretend mexican restaurants in this state that it is not even funny. I have to say that 90% of them are all about the same and must get their same crappy products from the same place.

I did stumble on a pretty good place in the fat city part of Metairie the other day called Taco San Miguel.

I had always enjoyed it in the past... and I got a combo plate a couple of days ago, and they couldn't have put more grease on it.
