The Destin location is closed, I believe Ocean Springs is the only one now open.

There's something about the sauce I remember disliking, but I can't remember what it was. There are definately worse places than The Shed. I don't recommend it to anyone but it's an okay place for Ocean Springs.

The only thing I miss about The Shed is their potato salad. I don't recall the BBQ being that great. I'm sure it was decent.

Over cooked meat and over dose of sugar in the sauce. Not for me, disappointed that the Memphis in May judges pallet went numb. I’m sure that stood out being so sweet after tasting all those different sauces.

I’m sure their competition stuff isn’t close to the same quality that they make mass quantities of for daily consumption

one of the main chefs on that team is Big Mike, of BIG MIKEs BBQ houma/Thibodaux. his Thibodaux location opened within the last few months and is very nice.

I actually went this past Friday. I hadn't been in years and the girlfriend wanted to go, so I figured I'd give it a shot. Most BBQ places I go to either ask if you want sauce or serve it on the side. I love BBQ but don't particularly care for sauce. I assumed it would be on the side and that is my fault. My brisket and ribs were absolutely swimming in very sweet sauce. From what I could taste of the actual meat, the brisket was actually enjoyable. The ribs were meh at best. Tender but bland and no smoke flavor.

Overall, I guess I wouldn't turn my nose up at it but there are so many better options.

Once ate at Big Bob Gibson's BBQ in Decatur, AL. Ask'em what are they known for?

Was directed to the trophies and told pulled pork. Well alright, bring me some of the award winning pulled pork.

Bland and smokeless. Just pitiful.

All of this is true. What they make in competition isn't what they make at the restaurant. My brother lives in Decatur, Al.

Rudy's doesn't belong in this sentence. Agree with the other two.

The Shed is a fine spot to stop on the drive to the beach to let the kids run around and have a beer. That's about it.

Don't shoot me... But the shed's ribs are the best I've ever had. Open to suggestions for better around the BR area.

That employee needs to be fired. Chris Lilly is a world-class pit master when it comes to competition BBQ, but Big Bob Gibsons is not known for their pork, but their chicken and white sauce.

after the shite they pulled in Mobile with the employees not getting any advance notice, coming to work to find the place boarded up is shitty - I hope a tornado collects the one in MS.

I was going to post the same thing

I am not much of a rib guy, but the taste and texture of the ribs I had at the Shed in Ocean Springs were the best for me as well

Well they don’t have a monopoly on that as it happens quite often in that industry.

Agreed, one of the worst bbq experiences of my life

I don't get why everyone is so bent out of shape over what he said in the video. He wasn't laughing in the sense that he enjoyed letting people go. I think he was just trying to make light of a tough situation. But everybody has to be offended by something these days so hey, knock yourself out.

As far as giving advanced notice of closing, I don't know who does that as I've never been working for someone who closed but hey, shite happens. Pull up your boot straps and go find another job. Damn.

The dude said he would pay two weeks severance to everybody. Thats pretty nice of him. I know checks haven't arrived yet and if he goes back on his word then by all means, wish the worst on him. But he said it on live damn TV. I would like to think he's not stupid enough to do that then not pay.

And for the record, the only Shed I ever ate at was in Scot, La and it was garbage.

tl;dr...you're an adult. Stop whining, get another job and move on with your life.
