I don't like sours.
I don't like all the expensive monk made beers from Europe either. I've tried some very expensive bottles too.

Love me some IPAs

Generally not a fan of the IPAs you find in the south or west coast. More into Texas reds, stouts, porters, etc. so I didn't always get the IPA craze that so many beer aficionados seemed to be all about.

But I recently did a drinking brewery hopping tour around Vermont and New Hampshire and Holy shite there are some delicious hazy NEIPAs up there! Everything is subjective but I totally get it now.

IPA

I like them, but like all things craft beer, how much is too much? Did you think 6-8 years ago that there would be so many beers in the market today? Capitalism is great and it creates competition, but when is the market considered over-saturated?

Because NEIPAs are the anti-IPAs......low bitterness. I love them too but a man needs to be bitter sometimes.

I have been seeing a bunch of canned kettle sours on the shelves lately and they are often shite.

You probably also put tomatoes in your gumbo.

well if it's not, then I guess I mean I like the tartness. Avery brewing makes a gose that is pretty good

You've taken your first baby steps in to the sour realm. There are several FBDers who can complete your conversion to the dark side. Give in to the acidity.

ETA: Malt isn't as bad as the IPA lovers want you think either.

You don't have to and that's OK.
Variety is one of the many great benefits of drinking beer. I don't like Bleu cheese dressing but you don't see me attention whoring with a thread on the FDB... to each her own!

Sours are ok, but IPA’s are trash. Why would I want a beer that tastes like tang and lawn trimmings?

There are a lot of bad IPAs out there, many of them pushed by the "big beer" owned breweries.

Also, IPAs are best fresh.

I still prefer Quads and Stouts overall, but a nice fresh IPA is good on a hot summer day.
