The City’s first stand-alone @officialchikfila is coming to #algiers in 2022.

#NOLACityCouncil approved a conditional use permit which allows the construction of a Chik-fil-A in the Algiers Plaza Shopping Center located at 4100 General DeGaulle.

??Thanks to my team for working with Chik-fil-a to bring new economic growth to #algiers. #newbusinessalert #economicdevelopment

I did not see that coming. Algiers sort of makes sense though I guess.

There is a rumor flying that the former BK on Tulane and Carrollton on the land Sydney Torres owns is going to be a CFA.

But I do not believe it at all.

Pretty sure that's already a new chicken place called NOLA Chick.

How the hell has there not already been a Chick Fil A built somewhere in a city the size of New Orleans?

Not to mention the obvious demographical advantage.

this is only there temporarily so they do not lose the fast food licensing permits for the spot.

They announced it at the time and that they were trying to land a "major" tenant.

Ahhh! I can picture the traffic backing up all the way to Tulane now and trying to turn onto it from Carrollton. Will be a shite show.

Wonder where they will put that....possibly that empty lot in front of Winn Dixie on the corner of Holiday and MacArthur? Can't see another place in that shopping complex where a stand alone could go up.

Greater New Orleans area has CFAs. Just none in Orleans Parish proper until this announcement.

There have been locations at UNO and Xavier for some time. This is the first stand-alone location. (There's been one in Oakwood Mall for years too, which is basically right across the parish line.)

(Xavier, not Tulane)

UNO has one, I think the Plaza Lake Forest Mall back in the day had one, too.

This is the first stand alone CFA.

Looks like same shopping area as Jeff’s Habedashery. Get your nuggets and fresh threads in the same place.

How are they going to find enough employees who know how to properly treat customers & who will be legit Chik-fil-a employees that the company can be proud of? This is a serious question. And I am not some blowhard ragging on New Orleans. I have actually lived in New Orleans before for many years even though I moved due to a certain hurricane.

Their model works. They’ll find people to work there and actually be happy about working there.

And arse, I think it’s going where El Paso was. The old Bennigan’s location. That building got a lot of hurricane damage so word is they sold that lot for next to nothing and are building a new location in Belle Chasse.

That shopping center is literally right across from the entrance to my neighborhood so I’m pretty pumped. CFA breakfast is the tits.

The same way that the DiMartino's and the Starbucks right down the street do. And since a Chick-Fil-A franchise owner is expected to work in their own store (unless this is an urban legend), you can expect them to focus on hiring good management and keeping up the customer service.

Algiers may not be quite as nice a place to live and raise a family as it was 30 or 40 years ago, but there are parts of it that are at least still functional.

Chic Fil a is not your typical demographically advantaged chicken place
