Is Zea considered a chain? Phil's Grill?

How did you miss this gem, glass?

For the matters of this list, locally owned chains like Copeland's, the Brennan owned restaurants, and Zea's will not be included. They are chains, and perhaps we should make a different top ten for the ten best locally owned chain restaurants. That may come at a later date, so watch this space!

He mentioned he wasn't taking local chains into consideration

I'm guessing the move to Destin is what got Ruth's consideration...

I didnt enjoy bravo's at all. I don't see why Zea's shouldn't be considered.

The Earl is rolling in his grave with your comment. Jimmy John's makes gas station sandwiches look good

Really, have any of you ever eaten at that savage shame of a sandwich shop? I can't imagine anyone who has would really say they make a better sandwich than Subway.

Ruth's corporate moved to Tampa, not Destin.

Yet again, I think you have compiled a solid list. Good job.

My last meal at PF Changs was very good. I could see it squeaking into the top 10.

Actually, I agree with this one. It's consistently fresh and well prepared. Not "cuisine" but very decent food. A tad pricey.

My take on why some people think Jimmy John's is better than Subway:

Most people are aesthetes. And as such, novelty is superior to them than almost any other factor. They crave what is new. Subway isn't new. It's well established throughout the land. Just about everyone has tried Subway before. Many have eaten there multiple times. Most people in the NOLA Metro have not eaten at Jimmy John's. It's new to them. And thus, right now, and especially because it's owned by Brees, it has greater appeal. But based on the food alone, and I say this as someone who does not enjoy Subway, Subway is superior to Jimmy John's.

if you think subways "meat" is better than jimmy johns i cant help you. its not even close. the one complaint i can understand about jimmy johns is their bread is "hard" compared to subways.

Maybe it's a personal preference thing, but I love the "hard" bread at Jimmy John's and can't stand Subways pillowy soft loaves.
