Apparently they're going to open up their first expansion in Huntsvegas at MidCity.

I visit Huntsville a couple times a year to visit friends and family, so wondering if this is a place I need to keep in mind once they open.

Above average bbq, their sides and chicken sandwiches are good.

It’s a good spot. Some things are overrated and some things are very good. They get a lot of local love as they should. Give it a try - you will enjoy.

Been in Nola and enjoyed. Excited they will be in N AL.

Not crazy about their location though. Its very commercial, was hoping for something a little more downtown or 5 points with a neighborhood vibe like in New Orleans. I shouldn't complain though, excited to have them.

The best part about the BBQ is the knock off Popeyes chicken sandwich!

Yeah because a spicy chicken sandwich is always a knockoff Popeyes item.

If you enjoy the drizzling shits, eat at Bloak. I ate there once... NEVER AGAIN!

I love Blue Oak. Not happy to hear they are expanding to be honest. The quality always suffers when places expand, IMO.

But everything is good there to me. The Brussel Sprouts are probably the best thing on the menu, honestly.

Great mac n cheese, love the brisket and the ribs, AWESOME Burger.

The Wings are probably there most popular dish. They smoke them.

They do well with all their BBQd meats. I usually get the ribs but they're all good.

Potato salad and brussel sprouts are good sides. They have a special side of the day which is sometimes good.

Half the reason I go there is the fact they keep great beer on tap. Around 8 taps but I usually have a hard time picking because they are all good. They usually have a tasty frozen drink in the mixer too.

Agree that the food is great, Brussels are awesome.

Personnel is VERY progressive/liberal. If that kind of thing makes you uncomfortable, you will not like it there. They are super destroya fans.

this is true

If you have a low bar for BBQ, it’s nice

Their non BBQ items are the best things on their menu

It's certainly an acquired taste. I like Popeyes spicy chicken sandoval over Blue Oak's. BO's tastes like General Tso's chicken on a bun.

Its convenient, consistent & quick service so that speaks to something.

“Damn good” is a little to strong for me.

Huntsville is a weird 2nd location. Wonder what the connection is

The sauce is really bad. But it’s photographs well & people buy into it

They had it before Popeyes did tho
