Got the bag of Tyson teriyaki chicken at Sam's. Thawed it out and was getting ready to throw in oven and saw on the bag the expiration was February 27, 2025.
Should I return or is ok to cook?

Should be fine if it was frozen all this time

Throw that shite in the trash.

It was frozen. What's the problem?

When did you buy it? If it was in my freezer for a long time, i would eat it. If I just bought it, I would take it back.

Probably don't even need to go to store; just message them or email them and get your money back, and you can still eat the chicken that is most likely fine.

If it's been frozen, it's fine. Just cook it to temp and move on.

One of the people that are the reason McD is losing the soft drink dispensers.

I would cook it and not think twice but if you're concerned about it, and you obviously are, throw it.

If it smells and looks ok after thawing it’s probably fine, even being Tyson.

Without even reading your message:
Yes, throw it away
Yes, throw it away

I wouldn’t eat that shite regardless of sell by date

I think stealing food and asking for your money back on expired food that was incorrectly sold to you are two different issues.
The grocery store should not be selling you expired food, so why should you have to waste your time to go back to the store to return the item. If you send them a chat and let them know the food you bought was expired, they are going to happily give you a refund.
At that point whether you keep it or not is irrelevant. Toss it or eat it at your own risk, but it is certainly not stealing.

We would starve at my camp if we didn't eat frozen food more than a year old.

I think he's saying that it was expired when he bought it. In that case, it wasn't frozen while sitting on the shelf at the grocery store.

Did you just buy it with an expiration date over a year ago?
Or did you buy it quite a while back and stick it in the freezer?
