When in town we go to Shaya.

Stay the course or venture further uptown to Saba?

I have been to Shaya many times and it is always great.

I tried Saba, and while good, I think Shaya is the better of the two.

Just my opinion.

The guy who created Shaya, also created Saba. He still works at Saba, he does not have any affiliation with Shaya.

I haven't been back to Shaya since Alon opened Saba.

I prefer Shaya. I find the food better and less pretentious.

And not to insert PB talk, but I would prefer a portion of my hummus purchase NOT to be donated to the Center for Reproduction Rights (or any political organization, I just want my hummus).

Shaya unless the weather is nice enough to sit outside, then probably Saba.

I prefer the food at Shaya and the atmosphere at Saba. So this post is entirely unhelpful for you.

And I've never been to either although I'd like to try them both.

Saba if I want blue crab hummus.

Shaya if I want fried chicken hummus.

It’s nonsensical but I feel weird going to shaya knowing that alon created it and is now unaffiliated and running Saba with his name still on the old building

I don't think it's nonsensical. It's one of the main reasons why I won't go back to Shaya. I feel like it's almost false advertising

Alon owning Saba would be a reason for many to go to Shaya instead

Both of these places existing in their weird mirror image pissing match actually irks me to the point that I no longer have any desire to go to either.

Is that Chemin? I heard the steaks are fantastic but the sides suck. I haven't been myself yet.
